The Opportunity
Mack Civil is seeking a highly experienced Safety Officer to join our delivery team on infrastructure upgrades in Sydney. This is a full-time role requiring a proactive safety professional with a strong track record in implementing WHS management systems on large-scale construction projects.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day safety management on site, ensuring compliance with all legislative, client, and internal WHS requirements. You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and the client to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Lead the on-site implementation of WHS Management Systems.
Conduct daily inspections and ensure compliance with approved SWMS and risk assessments.
Coordinate safety inductions, toolbox talks, and pre-start meetings.
Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are tracked and completed.
Support and lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis and reporting.
Liaise with client-side WHS representatives and regulatory bodies where required.
Maintain detailed site safety records, reports, and audit findings.
Minimum 5 years of experience in WHS management for civil construction projects.
Proven experience implementing WHS systems for projects of comparable scale and complexity.
Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and industry guidelines.
White Card and relevant WHS qualifications (minimum Cert IV WHS; Diploma preferred).
ICAM Lead Investigator certification (preferred).
Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.

We are a structural steel rigging company experiencing growth and a good pipeline of work. We require additional members for our crew. We are seeking EXPERIENCED Structural Steel Riggers, Crane Operator and Site Boilermaker/Rigger.
Australian work rights are essential - citizens or permanent residents only.
Work is Monday to Friday with some Saturdays if required.
RDO scheme is available if you choose.
Riggers must have experience in commercial structural steel erection. The ability to perform top hand work including pinning steel, purlins, bridging, fly bracing and installing chemical anchors and tru bolts without instruction. Successful applicants MUST have their own hand tools and basic battery tools and the knowledge to use them. RB, WP, DG tickets required.
Boilermaker will require qualification and be experienced in site work required as part of a steel erecting crew. Task will include site modifications, marking out, and other tasks associated with erecting steel such as top hand or groundy.
Operators will have relevant tickets and experience in operation of city class, truck mount and smaller AT cranes. HR licence with experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare estimates
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services

Working closely with the Performance & Reporting Lead, Commercial & Optimisation, The Commercial Partnerships Coordinator manages, and coordinates associated provider (subcontractor) relationships within Silverchain WA, ensuring effective onboarding, performance monitoring, pricing alignment, and issue resolution.
