Responsibilities:

Skills and experience:
· 2+ years’ experience in a premium restaurant or high-end dining environment
· Strong section experience with ability to carry 3 plates and handle 4+ table rotations
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Working knowledge of wine, cocktails and modern Asian cuisine (advantageous)
· Calm and polished under pressure, with genuine passion for guest service
· RSA certificate (mandatory for Queensland)

About the role
Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari is seeking a qualified Coxswain to operate their eco-tourism boat tours from Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island. This is a casual role with the opportunity to work flexible hours with busiest times during peak holiday periods.

What you'll be doing
Safely operating the company's tour boat, ensuring all passengers and crew are transported securely. This includes coastal safaris and snorkelling with dolphin & seal tours.
Providing an engaging commentary about the local marine environment, wildlife and history of Kangaroo Island
Assisting with boarding and disembarking passengers, as well as loading/unloading equipment
Carrying out routine maintenance and cleaning of the boat and equipment
Adhering to all relevant safety and environmental regulations
What we're looking for
Valid Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal certificate - MINIMUM REQUIREMENT - DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DONT HAVE THIS
Demonstrated experience operating small to medium sized boats, preferably in a tourism or charter setting
Strong knowledge of the local Kangaroo Island marine environment and wildlife or readiness to learn on the job
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently as well as as part of a small team
First aid certification and a passion for eco-tourism and conservation

Crocosaurus Cove is a popular tourist attraction in the heart of Darwin City that showcases Australian Saltwater Crocodiles and a large number of Top End Reptiles. In addition to our daily program of animal presentations and encounters, the park operates a small cafe for our guests. The licensed cafe offers coffee, cold beverages, a selection of hot food and a light snack menu and is open from 10am - 4pm daily.

Tasks & responsibilities
