About you

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) and design documentation tools 
  • Experience with prototyping, testing and validation of engineered products 
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM), value engineering, and cost optimization techniques 
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality systems 
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with teams such as manufacturing, quality, and product management

The Opportunity

We are seeking competent, qualified, experienced and motivated team members for our open Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics positions withBDAs Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team.  As our newest team member, you will be supporting, the CH-47F (Chinook) Maintenance and Logistics Support Program located at the Army Aviation Centre Oakey, Queensland with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. 

All candidates will be assessed for their relevant qualifications and experience. Equally important, candidates will be assessed on their cultural fit and their alignment with Boeing values. 

Persons applying for this role may also be required to work day shift, afternoon shift and night shift hours during the week.

 

Away from Home Location Work is required: Successful applicants will be required to travel and work away from their designated work location for a period of up to 12 consecutive weeks between August and November each year. This provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a different environment with our customer while fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. We are looking for candidates who are adaptable, flexible, and eager to embrace this aspect of the position. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Support the MRO team to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve successful production of serviceable aircraft whilst ensuring compliance to DASR Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
  • Liaising with Boeing, customer and other industry teams in maintenance operations in support of the customer with a high level of verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Adhere to aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, aircraft maintenance / modification operating procedures and documentation.
  • A positive attitude to Environmental Health & Safety (ISO14001 principles) in the workplace.

 

Experience/Qualifications: 

  •    Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
    •  Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence or the ability to obtain. Onsite CH-47F (SG) Type training is available to successful candidates that require it.
      • Be able to demonstrated a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the EASA/CASA/DASR regulatory framework.
      • Working knowledge of a computer-based maintenance management system.
      • Be an Australian Citizen to meet Project and Defence security requirements
      • Hold a C class drivers license.

 

Desirable: 

  • Previous experience in a Defence Military Aerospace environment on CH-47F (SG) or CH-47F.
  • Previous experience using paper-based aircraft maintenance documentation (AMD)

On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector I am currently urgently looking for an NV1 or above cleared Communications Network Engineer.

The role is being offered as an initial 12-month day rate contract position and is open to candidates that are currently based in Canberra, Melbourne OR Adelaide.

Duties of the Communications Engineer include:

  • Support the configuration management of Countermeasures Development and Validation (CMD&V) support equipment, and any identified remediation activities.

  • Manage the Material Certification of the individual components of Hardware-in the-Loop (HWIL) benches

  • Manage the licences and software IAW APM for in-service/baselined sustained equipment.

  • Conduct Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) of all equipment, ensure all identified and managed correctly for external stakeholders.

  • Drafting Safety Case Reports (SCR) for managing CMD&V support equipment.

  • Re-write relevant TD and MSI to support CMD&V support equipment.

  • Support the catalogue, codification and calibration of CMD&V support equipment.

  • Provide engineering support to additional tasking from the EWIS-L Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager.


MANDATORY Qualifications, Skills, Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or Telecommunications), eligible for Engineers Australia Membership, or recognised equivalent; and

  • Sufficient experience in the relevant area of practice to be eligible for chartered status with Engineers Australia.

  • At least 8+ years' experience in a similar role gained in the Defence sector.

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

  • Current NV1 or above clearance with the ability to obtain / maintain an NV2 clearance in the future.


Highly desirable skills experience:

  • Experience working within a Land Material Safety Framework.

  • Experience with FPECM, CIED systems, and other EW systems.

  • Knowledge and use of Spectrum analysers and other RF test equipment.

  • Laboratory and/or Field based testing of designs.

  • Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant technical field.

  • Chartered Professional Engineering status.

  • Experience with advanced communications networks.

Our client is a company that captures methane from landfill sites and turns it into renewable energy or safely destroys it to reduce emissions. It operates multiple biogas facilities and helps lower greenhouse gases while supplying reliable renewable power. They are now looking for a Control Systems Engineer for either of their offices in Brisbane or Adelaide.

Job Description:

A great opportunity to join a busy team that is in Queensland and South Australia. This position will include designing, developing, and maintaining control systems while supervising junior engineers and coordinating contractors. The role requires independent work, leadership, and occasional after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain control systems using Allen-Bradley CompactLogix, Citect SCADA, and other platforms (Siemens S7, Horner, Red Lion)
  • Work with additional SCADA systems (Ignition, AVEVA GeoSCADA, Honeywell Experion)
  • Prepare technical documents: specifications, control philosophies, I/O lists, P&IDs, reports, manuals
  • Provide technical support, including after-hours troubleshooting when rostered
  • Ensure compliance with standards, WHS requirements, and risk processes (risk assessments, HAZOPs)
  • Supervise junior engineers and oversee contractors during installation and commissioning
  • Manage project schedules, costs, and stakeholder communication.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years’ experience in industrial automation and control systems
  • Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Willing to travel as needed (intrastate, interstate, and overseas)
  • Proficient with RSLogix 5000/500 and Citect SCADA.
