Our client is a company that captures methane from landfill sites and turns it into renewable energy or safely destroys it to reduce emissions. It operates multiple biogas facilities and helps lower greenhouse gases while supplying reliable renewable power. They are now looking for a Control Systems Engineer for either of their offices in Brisbane or Adelaide.

Job Description:

A great opportunity to join a busy team that is in Queensland and South Australia. This position will include designing, developing, and maintaining control systems while supervising junior engineers and coordinating contractors. The role requires independent work, leadership, and occasional after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain control systems using Allen-Bradley CompactLogix, Citect SCADA, and other platforms (Siemens S7, Horner, Red Lion)
  • Work with additional SCADA systems (Ignition, AVEVA GeoSCADA, Honeywell Experion)
  • Prepare technical documents: specifications, control philosophies, I/O lists, P&IDs, reports, manuals
  • Provide technical support, including after-hours troubleshooting when rostered
  • Ensure compliance with standards, WHS requirements, and risk processes (risk assessments, HAZOPs)
  • Supervise junior engineers and oversee contractors during installation and commissioning
  • Manage project schedules, costs, and stakeholder communication.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years’ experience in industrial automation and control systems
  • Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Willing to travel as needed (intrastate, interstate, and overseas)
  • Proficient with RSLogix 5000/500 and Citect SCADA.

iLocate Australia is currently seeking experienced Subsurface Utility Information (SUI) Engineer /Utility locators in Sydney to join our team! We are a company that provides professional engineering services to construction ang design industries across New South Wales and Australia.

Our Subsurface Utility Engineering, specializes in capturing SUI information through a combination of latest electromagnetic and ground penetrating radar technologies, and geospatial technologies.

Role Description:

This is a full time role opportunity to work across Sydney, NSW, Australia. To be successful in the role, a background in reading in interpreting building / utility construction and surveying plans is an advantage. The SUI Engineer will be mainly responsible in assisting the Project Managers in planning and supervising our site works, controlling the costs to ensure profit targets are met and that all works meet the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards. Day to day tasks include managing the control, utility and detail surveys and clearly collaborate with the client, team members. and ensuring projects are completed profitably, efficiently and safely. The SUI Engineer will work closely with various engineering consultancy to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Qualification, Experience and Skils:

  • Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Construction Management

  • 1-3 Years of Post Graduate experience

  • Relevant degree in Engineering or related field

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Work Requirements:

  • White Card (Occupational Health & Safety Construction Induction)

  • Dial Before You Dig Certified Locator (preferred​)

  • At least 2 years of experience as a utility locator or related industry.

  • Physically fit and must be able to lift and open pit/manhole cover.

  • Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and drawings.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Flexibility to work on night shift, and weekends as required.

  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Use specialized equipment to locate underground utilities - Electromagnetic Locator (Radiodetection) and Ground Penetrating Radar (MALA).

  • Mark the location of utilities using paint, flags, or other markers.

  • Interpret utility maps and drawings to identify potential conflicts.

  • Communicate with contractors and project managers about potential utility conflicts.

  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

About the Company

Leading Fire Sprinkler Contractor in QLD for 20 years, specialising in Large/High Bay/Automated Warehouses, also including Shopping Centres and High Rise Projects.

We currently have a team of 4 Sprinkler Designers and require an additional Team Member to start immediately on a High Profile Project and ongoing work.


Role Requirements

Previous Experience with Fire Sprinkler Contracting Company, including attending design meetings, carrying out co-ordinated shop drawings, listing pipe fabrication sheets/materials and block plans.

Proficiency in Autocad and Revit for Design and Hyena for Hydraulic Calculations.

Strong knowledge of Australian and US codes, standards and regulations.

Work in a Team Environment.
