Job Overview:
You will lead our kitchen operations, delivering consistently excellent dishes for café service, seasonal lunch menus, as well as special event and function cooking. You’ll work closely with management to develop new menu items, manage kitchen staff, ensure quality control, and maintain cost efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations (breakfast, lunch service, and functions)

Develop seasonal menus, specials, and new dishes in line with customer trends and business goals and support head chef with menu development
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards in taste, presentation, and timing
Supervise, mentor, train, schedule, and evaluate kitchen team members
Ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene standards are strictly followed (e.g. safe food storage, cleaning schedules, HACCP, etc.)
Monitor, order, and manage kitchen inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships
Control food costs, maintain yield, reduce waste, and optimize portion sizes
Assist with event and function catering, including planning menus and execution of multi-course events
Collaborate with front-of-house management for harmonized service and customer satisfaction
Maintain kitchen equipment and oversee maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness
Qualifications:
Formal culinary qualification in Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef
Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and plating/presentation
Understanding of food costing, inventory management, and waste minimization
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
