Location: Barranca, Kangaroo Valley
Work Somewhere That Feels Like a Holiday. Every Day.
Set beneath the breathtaking escarpments of Kangaroo Valley, Barranca is a one-of-a-kind luxury farmstay; four architecturally designed villas nestled across 1,000 acres of rolling pasture and native bushland. Guests come here to reconnect, recharge, and make memories that last.
Supercalla Private Properties is proud to manage this extraordinary destination. We’re an award-winning boutique property management team dedicated to curating unforgettable stays across the NSW South Coast and Southern Highlands.
The RoleThis is a live-on-site caretaker position, offering accommodation in a private two-bedroom cottage at Barranca in exchange for light, regular property and animal care duties.
It’s ideal for someone who loves nature, enjoys independence, and takes pride in nurturing both land and animals. You’ll have the freedom of living onsite, balanced with the support of a close-knit, professional team just a call away.
Your daily responsibilities include:
Morning feeding and care for our much-loved farm animals (pigs, donkeys, Shetland pony, and Shire horses).
Keeping a watchful eye on the property and reporting any maintenance needs.
Occasionally assisting with guest experiences or check-ins when required.
There is a paid work component that includes villa preparation, light gardening tasks and ad hoc farm hand work during the week and weekends.
This is primarily an exchange arrangement—accommodation in return for a light, consistent daily commitment (around 1–2 hours in the morning and evening, depending on the season and routine).
Villa preparation, gardening work and farm hand work is paid per villa and by the hour.
The caretaker’s cottage includes a full kitchen, bathroom, and living area with spectacular escarpment views. Utilities (electricity, water, internet) are included.
