About The Role:

The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to:

  • Leading a small team to achieve Company driven goals and directives;

  • Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property;

The role

  • Maintain up-to-date supplier and contractor records while supporting compliance requirements.

  • Respond to creditor and supplier enquiries, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.

  • Support year-end accounts preparation and group reporting requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager on budgets, financial records, and statements.

  • Contribute to system and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.

  • Team-oriented mindset, willingness to learn, and a proactive, positive attitude.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.

  • Process and deadline-driven approach with high attention to detail.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • A completed Accounting degree
  • The intention to start, currently undertaking, or completed the CA program
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency with full work rights
