About The Role:

The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to:

• Leading a small team to achieve Company driven goals and directives;

• Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property;

• Assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals;

• Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;

• Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns.

 The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 5 years prior experience in Accounting with a strong academic track record;

• Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities to motivate and engage a small team;

• Strong understanding of Australian tax law and accounting concepts;

• Strong understanding of fundamental business concepts;

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills;

• A high focus on providing excellent client service;

• Excellent time management and attention to detail;

• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to tax issues;

What we’d love from you:

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in an Accounting practice;

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce;

• Ability to identify how to maximise returns for clients and be able to understand deductibility of certain items;

• Strong proficiency in accounting and tax software (MYOB, Xero and Intuit QuickBooks will be highly regarded).
