We are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Senior Tax Accountant to join their highly motivated and talented team in BALLARAT, in a permanent full-time capacity. The position may also result in the potential to become a Partner of the firm.

About The Role:
The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to:
Leading a small team to achieve Company driven goals and directives;
Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property;
Assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals;
Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;
Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns.
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 5 years prior experience in Accounting with a strong academic track record;
Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities to motivate and engage a small team;
Strong understanding of Australian tax law and accounting concepts;
Strong understanding of fundamental business concepts;
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills;
A high focus on providing excellent client service;
Excellent time management and attention to detail;
A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others;
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to tax issues;
A strong work ethic and initiative; and
Commitment to further training and professional development.
What we’d love from you:
Minimum 5+ years' experience in an Accounting practice;
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce;
Ability to identify how to maximise returns for clients and be able to understand deductibility of certain items;
Strong proficiency in accounting and tax software (MYOB, Xero and Intuit QuickBooks will be highly regarded).
