Lauriston Girls’ School is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to oversee our House and Carnival Sport programs for students in Years 7–12. About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Sport, the Coordinator of House and Carnival Sport is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all major and minor interschool and intra-school sporting carnivals, including Track & Field, Swimming/Diving, Cross-Country, and Triathlon. The role also oversees the Running Club, and the Lauriston Lap Challenge.  In addition, this role will provide coordination for the Lauristion Basketball Club.

This is an administrative position and commence as full-time for Term 1, 2026 only and then continue as 0.8FTE on an ongoing basis.  This is a term-time only position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all House and sporting carnivals for Years 7–12
  • Coordinate staffing, logistics, and resources for sport events
  • Liaise with external sporting bodies and internal stakeholders
  • Manage student teams and individual participation across carnivals
  • Oversee sport-related communications, awards, and reporting
  • Coordination and administrative support of Lauriston Basketball Club

You'll need:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved)
  • Current Western Australia Working with Children Check and First Aid qualification
  • Western Australia - hold active registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia (TRB WA) (applicants studying their Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) may be supported to apply for Limited Registration if certain conditions are met)

About you:

  • Qualified Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood / Childcare
  • Willingness to travel to different locations around your area
  • Able to implement quality, engaging, and activity-based programs
  • An understanding of the Early Learning Framework
  • Early Childhood Teachers must have a willingness to obtain their relevant state based teachers registration
  • Australian work rights and a willingness to gain you state based working with children's check and Food Handling Certificate.
  • Committed to Child Safeguarding and understanding of Mandatory Reporting responsibilities
  • Able to provide contact details of two most recent professional referees who have managed you and can speak to your ability to work with children (eg Director, Coordinator, Area Manager)
