We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Chef’s Assistant with hospitality and or food production experience to join our team. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks, ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of our production schedules. 

This is an ideal role for a Chef’s assistant or Apprentice Chef who has a passion for excellence and takes pride in creating bespoke food products. Monday to Friday role.!

Main Duties Include

1. Preparation: Compound batching, assisting chefs and cooks in preparing ingredients for cooking, such as weighing out ingredients, fetching ingredients from warehouse, operating machinery, performing temperature checks. 

2. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained our facility by cleaning work areas, utensils, equipment, and machinery to company standards. 

5. Following Food Safety Guidelines: Adhering to food safety protocols and regulations to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of food products. This includes proper storage of perishable items, monitoring temperatures, and following safe food handling practices.

6. Kitchen Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning kitchen equipment/machinery, organizing storage areas, and disposing of waste properly.

Overall, a Chef’s assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the head of production and ensuring the efficient and hygienic operation of the kitchen. They need to be proactive, able to work efficiently under pressure, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Hours:

6am to 2pm Monday to Friday

Qualifications:

- Prior experience in hospitality/kitchen environment.

The Cook will prepare nutritious meals, follow established recipes, and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met. This position also involves planning and preparing a special Christmas Dinner, to be held in the week prior to Christmas Day an important annual event celebrating community connection and care.
