Position: Functions Manager (Part-Time)
Location: Horizons – Beachside Events Venue
Hours: Thursday to Sunday, with some weekday shifts based on event schedule

Role Overview
We’re seeking a reliable, confident Functions Manager to oversee events on the ground. This is a casual role with hours varying week-to-week, depending on bookings but the majority of events are Friday to Sunday 2PM to 12AM. While all planning is taken care of by our events team, you’ll be thoroughly briefed before each function and expected to lead event execution with professionalism and a smile.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage events on-site from setup to pack down
Lead a small team of floor and bar staff during events
Liaise directly with clients on the week of their event for a final meeting
Ensure the smooth running of events according to briefing
Handle lock-up and venue closing procedures
Reconfirm staff for events and draft staff rosters
Prepare food service sheets, run-sheets and reconfirm suppliers bump-in/out
Respond quickly to any issues that arise during events
Place stock orders
Requirements
Previous experience in hospitality and/or events is essential
Comfortable leading a team and managing staff performance
Able to deal directly and professionally with clients and guests
Flexible availability – must be able to work weekends and late nights
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Reliable and confident with venue responsibilities, including securing the premises post-event
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
