About the role

CQM Quarry is expanding and seeking reliable, multiskilled personal to join our team.

We require Crushing and Screening Plant Operators, a Crushing Production Co-ordinator, Multiskilled Machine Operators (Excavator/Loader/Articulated Dump Truck) and an experienced Diesel Mechanic. As CQM staff, you will play a vital role in the efficient and safe operation of our crushing and screening plant and equipment. Machine operators will supply feed to the crushing train and either stockpile products or load trucks on the sales floor. Fitters will work alongside our current fitter to ensure plant and machinery is running at optimal capacity while maintaining safety standards. These are all casual positions based in Dallarnil, 20 minutes from Childers QLD. Immediate start required.

What you'll be doing

  • Crushing staff will operate and monitor crushing and screening equipment to process raw materials into desired products. Excavator Operators will win and feed material into the crush or screening plant. Loader Operators will stockpile products off the belt and load trucks. A background in a similar role is highly desired.

  • Operators to perform daily pre-starts on all plant and machines used on the day. Fitters to perform routine inspections, servicing and maintenance on all LV's, plant and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety requirements are met.

  • All staff are to identify and report any production issues, equipment malfunctions or site hazards to the appropriate personnel immediately. All faults and hazards are to be reported in the CQM Quarry database.

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

  • Assist with the general upkeep and housekeeping of the quarry site

What we're looking for

  • Crushing and Screening Operators or Machine Operators with experience and references.

  • The Diesel Mechanic must hold relevant qualifications and documented experience.

  • All staff should have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently

  • Valid driver's licence and machine RIIs - VOC's will be conducted onsite

About the Site:

Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. NRW have been contracted to provide all management and technical services for mining, drill and blast, train load out, miscellaneous and maintenance for a large-scale, long-life magnetite orebody.

About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will support the underground electrical maintenance department by ensuring all completed works are safe and compliant with standards and are completed with accurate record keeping of test results and work order comments. Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Supporting our asset management policy and standards, asset management plan, and work management process
  • Ensuring good quality work is achieved to enable maintenance KPI targets to be met or exceeded
  • Keeping accurate records of work required/done on all work orders
  • Working with Supervisor/Planners to ensure Pronto data is kept up to date
  • Gaining familiarity of underground assets including fixed plant materials handling, hoisting system, drill rigs / 1kV and 415/240V auxiliary equipment
  • Fault finding and calibration of instruments including weight, pressure, temperature, and distance
  • Assisting with High Voltage (HV) Network switching, in line with High Voltage Isolation and Access Requirements

About you

You will bring prior experience working in an underground mining environment with various fixed plant assets. You will have a safety-focused mindset and a can-do attitude with a willingness to accept individual responsibility within a small team. A basic level of computer skills and relevant machinery tickets. Your competence in assessing risks, applying sound operational controls, and executing tasks proficiently will ensure optimal fixed plant performance.
