About the role
The lecturer's primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD).
In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
To be successful in this role you will have trade qualifications and Certificate III (or equivalent) electrical qualifications, including an unrestricted Electrical Licence. The successful applicant will also have at least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning.
There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 (Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 or TAESS00024).
Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however South Metropolitan TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Preparation and production of quality bakery products to Bakers Delight.
Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations by inspecting equipment cleanliness and premises before production begins.
Evaluating the quality of raw materials and measuring ingredients.
Performing tasks such as kneading, maturing, cutting, molding, mixing, and shaping dough and pastry products.
Preparing fillings for pastries.
Monitoring oven temperatures and assessing product appearance to determine appropriate baking times.

Applying glaze to buns and pastries and using cream and icing to decorate cakes.
