Job Objective:
The Welder fabricates and repairs metal products using various welding techniques.
Job tasks and duties
· Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
· Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
· Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
· Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
· Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
· Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
· Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions

The night before each workday, you will receive a schedule on your phone that will assist you in managing appointments for the next day. You will start your day from home to your first appointment, whilst utilising an app to record your process.
No two days will ever be the same! Each inspection can vary between 10-30 minutes to ensure a property is safe and compliant, whilst travel time between appointments can vary between 15-30 minutes.
