About the opportunity: We are currently seeking a locally based Site Engineer to join our team in Katherine on the NAVFAC Maintenance Facility project.

The Project:
The project includes the construction of a maintenance facility at the Tindal airbase. We are in a Managing Contractor agreement with the build being sub-contracted to a local business.

You will assist with the planning, execution and closing of the project by providing technical, administrative, HSEQS support to the project team. A key requirement is to accurately report on how your project is running (cost, time, scope & quality) at all times requiring you to know and understand your daily costs and scope of works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain documentation and systems for quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Review, verify and submit information to our client
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings as required
  • Financial assistance with cost tracking and invoicing of subcontractors on different packages of work
  • Report to project leadership team

Skills we are looking for:

As a Safety Conformance Engineer, you will  be responsible for the triage, Investigation and reporting of safety related events and maintenance escapes. You will play a pivotal role to undertake ongoing oversight and investigation as per the Safety Management System for Engineering & Aircraft Maintenance Division (AMO Part 145).

You will….

  • Support and participate in independent audit programs to ensure compliance with Part 145 of the CASR 1998 and associated Manuals of Standards and Expositions.
  •  Report critical safety related matters to the relevant leaders to ensure they are kept briefed on any issues that require immediate attention or escalation in both regulatory and business sense.
  • Ensure internal and external audits are completed and actioned on time in line with Virgin Tech Safety and Quality Expositions.
  • Oversight investigation finding and corrective/preventative action process via the company Safety Management Database.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance to staff in response to incidents or occurrences.
  • Collaborate across teams within Virgin Tech and other divisions, including Safety Systems, to drive a proactive and compliant safety culture.
  • Participate in the SMS and SeMS by identifying and reporting hazards to the operation.
  • Challenging unsafe behaviour in others and participate in consultation of WHS matters.
  • Participate in preparation of safety reports (MSRRC, ESSRC, BSRRC and participate in bi-annual conference review with Virgin Tech

What you need to be successful:

  • Experience in Operations investigations or auditing with the ability to determine the root cause(s) of the deficiencies discovered.
  • Recognised qualification in incident investigation
  • Strong practical experience and expertise in the applications of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Hold or have held an accreditation as an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Lead Auditor would be desirable but not essential.
  • Working knowledge of TRAX, Intelex and highly competent in the Microsoft Office Suite. (Preferred)
  • Broad aviation experience in airline operational procedures development and review.
  • Strong self-motivation and be able to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to critically review and write reports for all levels of management.
  • Strong knowledge of all elements of the CASR and MOE (42/145/91), maintenance programs and overall servicing and maintenance of aircraft.

Desirable

  • Safety or Lead Auditor qualification
  • Qualification or experience in an aviation maintenance discipline or a qualification in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering

Mulgoa Road Alliance will deliver improvements to road safety and the M4 exit ramps, as part of the Mulgoa Road stage 1 upgrade between Jeanette Street to Blaikie Road in Penrith, Sydney.
