We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.


The role

Reporting to the Senior Strategic officer - Arboriculture , we are seeking an Arborist who can bring their skills and experience for:

  • Competent pruning of trees / chipping branches
  • Discuss, advise and recommend to the Tree Crew Team Leader / Senior Strategic Officer any possible opportunities for improvements to service delivery, productivity and safety of staff
  • Conduct pre-start checks on all plant and equipment prior to starting the item up, this includes site JSA's and SWP's.
  • Report any damage or malfunction of plant to the Team Leader/Coordinator/ Senior Strategic Officer immediately.
  • Act in a courteous, co-operative, responsible and professional manner at all times.
  • Report the need for maintenance and / or repair of Council assets observed during the course of undertaking your normal duties.
  • Complete Daily Work Sheets and return to Team Leader/Coordinator/ Senior Strategic Officer daily.
  • Wear the approved Brimbank Operations uniform at all times during work hours, including all requisite safety clothing and equipment and PPE
  • Immediately advise your Team Leader/Coordinator/ Senior Strategic Officer of safety clothing/safety -equipment or uniform requirements.
  • Other duties within Parks Services as directed.

To be considered you will have:

  • Developed skills in the safe and competent operation of designated plant and equipment.
  • Ability to use plant and equipment for tree maintenance and pesticide application.
  • Climbing trees using rope and harness method.
  • Worksafe High Risk Licence – Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
  • Arboricultural qualifications and knowledge.
  • Ability to use hand tools / chainsaws

This role sits in the City and Asset Planning Management team as part of the City Planning and Infrastructure division, which is responsible for planning, designing, building and maintaining the City of Casey for our growing community.

As Principal Recreation and Open Space Planner, you will lead, partner and collaborate across teams and organisations to deliver strategic open space and recreation plans and projects that contribute to a thriving and valued open space network.

You will provide strategic direction and develop policy, service levels and standards to ensure high quality open space, sport and recreation facilities for the City of Casey.

About the Business Unit

Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum-security prison focussed on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody. Western Plains features multi-purpose infrastructure which is adaptable to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria and the people in our care. Modern amenities include medical wards, a cultural centre, and vocational training facilities. 

This role is part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team, a team dedicated to delivering essential corporate and ancillary services support to prison operational teams and prisoners. Leveraging the technical ability and professional expertise of trained subject matter experts, the team supports the smooth functioning of prison operations while prioritising prisoner rehabilitation and safety.  

About the Role

The Client Services Support Officer applies their customer service and technical expertise to ensure the compliant, efficient, and client focussed delivery of prison services across their designated portfolio within multiple functional areas of the centre. Service areas include, mail, prisoner property, prisoner finance, gatehouse customer service, operational logistics, prisoner records and prison internal transport.

Client Services Support Officers will rotate through different service areas over a set period. This approach allows Officers to enhance their career development and broaden their understanding of all team deliverables, enabling them to better support Team Leaders and Supervisors while also providing opportunities for higher responsibilities.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Prepare stock estimates, obtain quotes, and organise purchases to maintain stock levels for the prison stores and prisoner canteen, undertake regular stock-takes, maintain accurate records and maintain the shop in good order.
  • Maintain prison archives; liaise with relevant staff and stakeholders to facilitate compliant document management systems.
  • Coordinate and undertake regular deliveries of nominated items and persons across the prison via the internal transport system.

About the role

  3. Demonstrated knowledge to manage properties and land registers in accordance with S8 Local Government Act (asset owner), Residential Tenancies Act and Strata Schemes Management Act.
  4. Assist to develop and improve the Council’s partnerships with other levels of government, the private and non-for-profit housing and community service organisations to promote and implement best practice.
  5. Tertiary degree level or industry-specific qualifications or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field of Property or Asset or Strata or Leasing Management and coordination.
  6. Demonstrated experience in managing diversified property portfolios, experience in Project Management either the public or not-for-profit sectors with respect to real property transactions and including the establishment and/or management of community or affordable housing initiatives.
  7. Excellent time management and negotiation skills to adapt to shifting priorities and competing deadlines.

About the Role
The Communications Security Account Manager is responsible for oversight, advice and management of all relevant COMSEC policies and equipment in line with National Authority and client requirements.
 
The role is also responsible for enabling COMSEC-related product and engineering functions by supporting product build, quality assurance, logistics and administrative processes. Through effective engagement with engineers, product managers, system program offices, original equipment manufacturers and clients, the CAM enables delivery and operational support for PentenAmio's AltoCrypt product lines.

This role is an 18 month contract to backfill leave.
 
Skills & Experience
  • Recent experience in a COMSEC position spanning accounting, personnel access, provision of training, physical security and incident management.
  • Extensive knowledge of COMSEC policy, operating procedures and responsibilities
  • Expertise in safeguarding and handling of cryptographic equipment.
  • Experience with exchanges processes, revocation and secure destruction of cryptographic material.
  • Experience collaborating with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders across Defence, Government and Defence Industry.
