About the role

We’re looking for a motivated and community-focused professional to lead the City’s Beach Access Program and related inclusion initiatives. As the Disability Access and Inclusion Officer, you’ll take ownership of program planning, coordination and delivery ensuring safe, consistent and sustainable access across the season while supporting the implementation of the Accessible and Inclusive City Action Plan (AICAP).

This role combines hands-on project coordination with strategic program management, driving practical improvements to accessibility, inclusion and community participation.

About you

You’re an organised and collaborative professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality, inclusive outcomes and enjoys turning strategy into meaningful action. With strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you build productive relationships and bring people together to achieve positive community outcomes. 

Key skills and experience:

  • Experience delivering accessible and inclusive programs and services.

  • Strong understanding of disability access principles, antidiscrimination legislation, the social model of disability, inclusive practice.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and skills in advocacy.

  • Demonstrated experience in project or program management, including risk management, preferably in a community, inclusion, or accessibility context.

  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.

  • Proven ability to analyse data, monitor outcomes and prepare clear, evidence-based reports
