About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to provide advanced clinical expertise and care relevant to the diabetes education. The Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Managers, Nurse Educators and wider multidisciplinary health care team to support the clinical units in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of diabetes nursing.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Manage an allocated workload to deliver high level diabetes education to patients across the continuum of care, within a multidisciplinary team, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, utilising a high degree of independence within the work unit, including application at a HHS and state-wide level, with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
  • Provide clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team, working cooperatively and effectively within the team and with patients/clients/families to provide high quality patient care.
  • Identify, monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within clinical area and actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of diabetes services and patient outcomes.

What you'll bring to the role…

  • A degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility for membership to Engineers Australia or other degree qualifications with relevant experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and Roads Act 1993 and associated legislation and regulations
  • Experience in the assessment and provision of engineering input on land development and subdivision applications
  • Extensive experience in the inspection and approval of land development and subdivision related civil engineering construction works to ensure compliance with development consent conditions and other legislative requirements
  • Experience acting as a Principal Certifying Authority for land development and subdivision works

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career and obtain experience working as a Senior Police Lawyer in the Courts and Prosecution Services Division (CPSD) of the Victoria Police Legal Services Department (LSD). Our vision is to be a centre of prosecutorial and legal excellence, with people who are recognised as being fair, just and valued partners in the Victorian justice system.

Victoria Police's LSD provides legal services and advice to support policing, courts, and the Victorian community. The LSD is led by an Executive Director (who is also the organisation's General Counsel) and employs over 800 staff spread across four divisions - the Office of the Executive Director; the Specialist Legal and Litigation Division; the CPSD; and the Legal Business Operations Division.

This role is located within the Prosecutions Branch, Courts and Prosecutions Services Division, Legal Services Department. Initial duties will be based out of the Wodonga Prosecutions Unit to service Courts throughout North East Victoria (Wodonga and Corryong) and Wangaratta if required.  Alongside sworn police prosecutors, Senior Police Lawyers prosecute in both the Magistrates' and Children's Courts. Their duties include representing Victoria Police within various practice areas, including summary crime, youth crime, therapeutic justice and family violence. They are also involved in supporting Victoria Police's response to bail reform.  

To meet service delivery at Wodonga Magistrates Court and support Victoria Police's response to recent bail reform, we are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated Senior Police Lawyers to be an integral part of the prosecution team.

The role is advocacy focused, and it is anticipated that you will have some prior in-court advocacy experience. The successful applicant will also be provided opportunities for training and professional development through courses and on the job training.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate an ability to appear as a court advocate and manage competing priorities effectively, with a sound understanding of the Victorian criminal justice system.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparation and appearance work in both the Magistrates' and Children's Court jurisdictions within the summary crime, youth crime, therapeutic justice and family violence areas of practice.

As the successful applicant, you will:

  • Be admitted to practice as an Australian Lawyer.

  • One (1) full-time, ongoing position.
  • The salary range for a VPS4 role is $97,955 to $111,142. Although it is standard practice for selected candidates to commence at the base of the salary range, genuine consideration will be given to a commencement salary within the available range that is commensurate with the successful candidate's knowledge, skills and experiences. This will be subject to negotiations with the Hiring Manager during the selection process and may include the provision of evidence of a higher income and/or supporting documentation (as required).
  • As a member of the CPSD you will be located on selection at a specific office for a particular advertised opportunity. The initial location for this position is Wodonga Prosecutions Unit situated within the Wodonga Police Station. However, given occasional legal service demand issues you may be required at times to undertake varied work within the Department. This promotes professional development opportunities in a range of legal domains and supports the Department's commitment to a flexible and deployable legal workforce.
  • This position may require you to work outside normal hours.

The Role:

The role also provides expert advice on workplace investigations and other State Service employment frameworks.

You will need to:

  • Provide a high-level consultancy service to HR Managers and their staff, and senior management in the Agency on employee relations matters.
  • Provide specialist advice and high-level support to the Manager- Employee Relations, HR team members, and Managers on the investigation and resolution of employee complaints, grievances, inability and disciplinary matters, industrial/award disputes, and the management of client complaints.
  • Liaise with the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner, Ombudsman, State Service Management Office and other relevant State, Commonwealth and Local Government departments on the handling of incidents and procedures.

The New South Wales Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) is a not-for-profit statutory body, established under Part 10 of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and managed by a Board appointed by the Minister for the Environment.

The Trust’s roles are to support and encourage landholders to enter into agreements to conserve and protect biodiversity on private land, guided by the government’s Biodiversity Conservation Investment Strategy; secure biodiversity offsets when developers choose to pay into the Biodiversity Conservation Fund; and other activities that promote greater awareness of, appreciation and understanding of, biodiversity and the importance of conserving it.

We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
