Are you a wordsmith who can capture a brand's vision in a voice that captivates and converts? Do you thrive on crafting messages that not only tell a story but drive measurable action? Are you ready to shape the narrative of a brand on a national growth trajectory?
At Contour, our growth has been explosive. Now, we're seeking a Marketing Copywriter to be the architect of our brand's voice. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, your mission will be to codify our unique brand voice into words, creating a clear, compelling, and consistent style that resonates across every platform.
This isn't just about writing. It's about strategic communication. We need a creative thinker who can produce high-impact direct marketing copy across every touch-point - from our website, digital ads, and emails, to printed pamphlets and brochures (think Alex Hormozi style). We want you to break through the plethora of AI slop online so you can make our authentic voice reach more families than ever before. If you’re a creative, results-driven writer eager to make a tangible impact on a brand reshaping education, this is your calling.
At Contour, we’re reshaping education, one student at a time.
Born from the frustration of students who knew the system could be better, we set out to build what we once wished existed: tutoring that actually works. Not generic classes. Not recycled notes. Not overpriced, overcrowded rooms with an out-of-touch teacher who couldn’t relate. But a complete ecosystem of tutoring, resources, and support, meticulously designed to help every student reach their full potential.
Since 2020, over 10,000+ students have trusted Contour to guide their academic journey, and we’ve grown to over 300+ team members. We’ve produced hundreds of 99+ ATARs, tutored the World-Record UCAT scorer, and placed more students into medical school than any school in Australia.
Our growth is a testament to the simple philosophy: Put the student first, always. Everything we design, from our world-class tutor-training programs to our purpose-built campuses, exists to help students master content faster, perform with confidence, and even rekindle the joy of learning.
Contour is a group of three brands united by one goal: to give every student the best chance to achieve their full potential:
Contour Education: Reshaping how students master their high school subjects with small-group tutoring, structured resources, and 1-on-1 support across Maths, Science, and English.
Contour Medprep: Reshaping medical preparation with a proven, step-by-step pathway through the UCAT, interviews, and admissions, led by a team of 100+ medical students.
Contour TestPrep: Reshaping test preparation, starting with the selective entry exam, through rigorous tutoring, mock exams, and data-driven feedback to give students a decisive advantage.
This is Contour. Built by students, for students.
As our Marketing Copywriter, you will be the voice of our brand, working closely with the Head of Marketing and founders to craft engaging communications.
Codify the Brand Voice: Collaborate with founders and leadership to understand and codify the authentic Contour voice, translating our philosophy into a comprehensive style guide.
Craft Performance-Driven Ad Copy: Write persuasive, direct-response ad copy for Google, Meta, and other platforms, relentlessly testing creative to lower acquisition costs and drive enrolments.
Build a Content Engine: Write and edit long-form content that builds authority, good-will, and drives organic growth, including blog articles, student case studies, and landing pages that convert.
Drive Engagement Across Channels: Write engaging copy for all marketing touch-points, including email newsletters, social media captions, and video scripts, to create a seamless brand story.
Create Compelling Physical Collateral: Write clear, persuasive copy for print materials like campus brochures, event pamphlets, and parent information packs.
Collaborate on Go-To-Market Campaigns: Serve as the lead copywriter on major campaigns, working with Marketing and Design to ensure messaging is powerful, integrated, and flawlessly executed.
A Master Wordsmith: 3+ years of marketing copywriting experience with a strong portfolio of high-converting content across digital and print.
Strategic & Creative Thinking: A strategic thinker who can align creative copy with marketing goals and audience needs.
AI-Enhanced & Efficient: Proficient in using modern writing tools, including AI, for editing, proofreading, and brainstorming to produce high-quality copy efficiently.
SEO Savvy: A solid understanding of SEO principles and how to write keyword-optimised content that drives organic traffic.
Adaptable & Versatile: An adaptable writer who can effortlessly switch between tones and styles for different audiences and projects.
Strong Collaborator: An effective communicator and team player who takes feedback constructively to bring creative visions to life.
Bonus Points:Experience in the education sector, high-growth startups, or B2C markets.
High Impact: This isn't a "keep the lights on" role. You will be a key contributor to our national growth story, with your words directly shaping how thousands of students and families perceive Contour.
Ownership & Autonomy: You'll have the freedom and trust to craft compelling narratives, with the full backing and strategic guidance of the leadership team.
Clear Path for Growth: This is a pivotal role with significant growth opportunities. Excel here, and you can be on a clear trajectory towards more senior content or marketing roles.
Competitive Package: We offer a competitive salary for top-tier talent and a flexible, hybrid environment where we value output, not hours at a desk. Our supportive benefits include an EAP, birthday/loyalty leave, and lifestyle allowances.
A Vision to Believe In: We’re ambitious, passionate, and on a journey to reshape education in Australia.
The Marketing team’s mission is to turn Contour into an iconic brand, so when people see white with a blue ‘C’, they should immediately think of Contour - the way red and gold means McDonald’s, black and white stripes mean Adidas, and Tiffany blue means Tiffany & Co.
If this challenge sparks your inner-marketing flame - your drive to prove yourself and take your career to the next level - this is the role for you!
P.S. We know our current website is extremely outdated - we built it ourselves when we were 18, back when Contour first started. A brand-new site is on the way at www.contour.com.au!
