Macchina Coffee Tech is seeking an experienced and motivated Coffee Equipment Service Technician to join our growing service team. In this role, you’ll deliver expert technical repair, servicing, and warranty support to our network of café and domestic customers, while helping us maintain and expand our service operations.

You’ll work with a range of equipment including commercial and domestic espresso machines, grinders, and coffee roasting devices — all while providing an exceptional level of professional service and communication.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on variety, customer interaction, and solving technical challenges.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Maintain, service, and repair commercial and domestic espresso machines, grinders, and related equipment.

  • Perform warranty repairs and preventative maintenance on-site and in-house.

  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults and provide efficient resolutions.

  • Support installations, upgrades, and workflow optimisations for café customers.

  • Provide on-call breakdown support on a rotating roster.

  • Liaise with the office team to ensure jobs are efficiently scheduled and documented.

REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL

  • Current electrical, plumbing, or refrigeration technician licence (one or more).

  • Current Driver’s Licence.

  • Confident using technology, apps, and diagnostic tools in your daily workflow.

  • Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy coffee machines using trolleys and tools.

  • Full Australian working rights.

REQUIREMENTS – DESIRABLE

  • Willing to undertake a Restricted Electrical Licence and Test & Tag certification.

  • Experience troubleshooting high and low power circuits, plumbing flows, and pressure systems.

  • Previous experience servicing espresso machines such as La Marzocco, San Remo, Rocket, or similar.

  • Understanding of water filtration systems and their impact on coffee equipment.

  • Barista experience and strong knowledge of espresso preparation or milk texturing.

  • Experience using service management software (e.g. ServiceM8, simPRO).

  • A fun, “can-do” attitude and willingness to work collaboratively in a team.

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

What You'll Be Doing

Working as a Qualified Maintenance Fitter in a self managed hands on role for a growing Australian owned company.

Very diverse role attending breakdowns across 11 production lines, general maintenance, troubleshooting, problem-solving and commissioning of new manufacturing machinery.

About you

  • Qualified Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade

  • Must hold a Mechanical Fitter trade qualification

  • Manufacturing maintenance experience in liquid bottling manufacturing including automated lines.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience required

  • A stellar ability to analyse/fault find, troubleshoot, rectify problems across multiple and varied production lines and fix them in a way so it doesn't happen again. (Hopefully)

  • Ability and exposure to think fast and fix production breakdowns in a systematic and timely manner where required. (With all of the line workers watching you)

  • Good Knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulics.

  • Experience in repair and maintenance of plastic blow moulding machinery or at least putting the gloves on and willing to give it a crack.

  • Fabrication - TIG and Stick Welding

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently, working with two production managers and reporting directly to the General Manager if need be.

  • Have great respect and understanding for OHS.

Post-trade qualifications and a 'D' class electrical licence etc - would be highly regarded but not essential.
