The Crisis Support Space (CSS) is a new initiative within the Acute Care Team, Mental Health Service Group at Townsville University Hospital. It offers a safe, non-clinical environment for individuals experiencing mental distress or suicidal ideation, providing peer support and clinical oversight as an alternative to the emergency department.

About your opportunity

As the Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and oversight within the CSS. This role is pivotal in triaging mental health presentations and linking consumers to appropriate services.

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology.
  • Registration or eligibility for membership with the appropriate professional body.
  • Experience in mental health crisis response and clinical leadership.
  • Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) or willingness to obtain.

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Operations Technicians. This is an entry-level role where you will be trained to assist with the production and packaging of medicinal cannabis products, while learning how to work in a regulated Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and enjoys working as part of a team. At times, you may also help with cultivation activities. Flexibility with working hours, including weekends, may be required depending on production needs.

Key Responsibilities (Training Provided)

  • Assist with transferring harvested cannabis material from cultivation to the GMP processing facility, following handling protocols.

  • Learn to trim cannabis flowers (both machine and manual) to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Help prepare material for drying and monitor conditions such as temperature and humidity.

  • Carry out moisture checks during drying to track progress.

  • Support bulk and finished goods packaging, including labeling and sealing.

  • Follow GMP, company SOPs, and health & safety requirements at all times.

  • Operate and clean production equipment under supervision, ensuring work areas remain organized and contamination‑free.

  • Record production activities such as batch details, materials used, and quality checks.

  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Cultivation teams to maintain product integrity.

  • Report equipment or process issues to supervisors.

  • Assist with inventory checks of raw materials and packaging supplies.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent (further study in science or related field is a bonus, but not required).

  • No prior industry experience necessary — training will be provided.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or GMP concepts is helpful but not essential.

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and follow instructions carefully.

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • Comfortable with physical work (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).

  • Basic computer skills for data entry.

  • Reliable transport to and from the facility.
