About The Role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role will support accurate financial reporting, compliance, and month-end processes while contributing to continuous improvement across accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of accounting standards, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to financial governance and reporting.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive month-end and year-end close activities for all entities across the Group, including preparation and review of complex journals (accruals, prepayments, allocations) and detailed Balance Sheet / GL reconciliations
  • Manage processing of key invoices and calculations, applying a strong understanding of business unit operations
  • Prepare and provide data for external audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of responses
  • Oversee the operational implementation of project ledger policies and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Address reporting queries from researchers, providing accurate and timely financial support
  • Contribute to the rollout of new systems and accounting processes, helping to embed best practice
  • FBT & BAS Returns preparations and submissions
  • Apply finance policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen governance and compliance
About You

You are a detail-oriented and technically strong Senior Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. With excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, you are confident working both independently and as part of a team. You take pride in delivering accurate results, supporting process improvements, and contributing to organisational goals. You will have a strong background in a chartered accounting firm, in either a Big 4 or a Mid-Tier firm, where you developed strong technical skills (IFRS / AASB)
 
The Requirements
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (AASB/IFRS)
  • Self-starter. Independent. Autonomous work style. Can prioritise competing deadlines well
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards
  • Confident with Excel and ERP systems, Netsuite is advantageous
