What you will be doing:

You will be carrying out airworthiness reviews on aircraft operated by Virgin Australia and issuing Airworthiness Review Certificates and/or extensions in accordance with Subpart CASR 42.I of CASR 1998 and be authorised by the CAMO as an ARE.  You will also participate in Technical Investigations in matters related to ARCs as required.  Additionally, you will maintain relevant work instructions and ensure all checklists are kept up to date as improvements and efficiencies become apparent.

What you need to be successful:

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in continuing airworthiness management activities, or
  • A minimum 2 years of continuing airworthiness management activities, provided you have held or hold a maintenance certification licence in category B1, B2 or C or its equivalent (refer to CASR part42 MOS 1.9.4)
  • Hold a knowledge of aircraft systems, structures and certification at least equivalent to level 1 as set out in Appendix III of the Part 66 MOS
  • Be skilled in the use of aviation maintenance control database
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (outlook, excel and word) with clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Be skilled in the navigation of CASA regulations, guidance materials and the regulatory element of airworthiness review
  • A sound knowledge of the functions of an airline engineering department including the following sections aircraft heavy and line maintenance planning, aircraft system of maintenance, stores inspection procedures
  • Prior experience in an engineering records department, or other high-volume records environment

Your New Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will manage all phases of the delivery of Strategic Projects throughout the Territory.

Your accountabilities include:

  • Provide high level professional advice to Executive Management on Strategic Projects throughout the Territory.

  • Work with Owners Engineers, EPC and Principal contractors to ensure Project KPI’s are achieved.

  • Develop project business cases, including complex cost estimations, which optimise the Corporation’s asset portfolio, coordinate project evaluation and approval processes and stakeholder management activities.

  • Establish an excellent working relationship with the Client Business Units. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, on all matters relating to the Project, and provide high level assistance on related matters that may be required from time to time by Clients.

  • Assess the resources/skill needs required for the delivery of the Project and arrange for those particular resources in-house or via external consultants as required.

  • Provide expert leadership to Design and Project Teams – incorporating internal and external resources to ensure client, customer and delivery team requirements are met.

  • Provide input to develop, implement and continuously improve Territory Generation’s Project Management Policy, Framework, Procedures and Guidelines.

  • Ensure positive safety behaviours are embedded across the team and that safety and environmental KPIs are achieved in compliance with the Safety & Environmental Management Plans. 

  • Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.

Your skills & experience:

  • Relevant degree level qualifications in engineering or similar(for professional designation)

  • High level ability to strategically manage all phases of project development and manage delivery of Strategic Projects throughout the Territory.

  • High level project management skills together with the ability to manage major projects and multi-faceted tasks involving other Business Units.

  • Ability to develop and successfully implement construction delivery models and manage within a wide range of contracting methodologies at senior levels.

  • High level leadership and managerial skills with proven ability to lead and advise staff on professional and para-professional matters, delegate appropriate work, and effectively monitor performance.

  • High level oral and written communication and negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and technical/commercial capabilities. 

  • Ability to develop and retain strong professional working relationships and effectively negotiate with other colleagues within the Department, clients, the community and industry representatives (consultants and contractors).

  • High level skills in safety leadership and the ability to develop and promote a behavioural safety culture in the project team.

Desirable skills & experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in management, project management or similar

  • Awareness of NT Government policies, procedures and processes

  • Knowledge and experience in the effective management of large multidisciplinary power infrastructure projects in a client focussed environment.

  • Either an engineering degree or relevant trade certification (electrical) combined with demonstrated experience in leadership / supervisory positions.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in HV commissioning.
  • A current C Class Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
  • Solid skills in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A strong grasp of engineering codes, regulations, and performance standards.
  • Experience delivering complex, multi-discipline HV grid connection projects — ideally in a design, build & commission environment.

The role will be responsible for undertaking engineering assessments, investigation and designs associated with Western Power or Customer facilities connected to the Distribution Network.

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. This is a 5-month maximum term contract opportunity.

Your Role in Action

  • Produce and/or check designs and estimates for projects encompassing materials, labour, sub-contract services and costing for work associated with the Distribution Network. This will include the provision of specialist technical information

  • Undertaking engineering investigations and to participate in process improvements

  • Provide technical support across other work groups

  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement

  • Document variations to procedures, programmes and processes

  • Complete all documentation, ordering of materials, entering and maintaining information in applicable computer systems

  • Undertake contract administration to ensure contractor compliance to specification and identify non-conformances of contractors. This will include reviewing designs, work performance, works programs and preparing reports

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • At least 4 - 6 years demonstrated engineering experience, preferably in an electrical utility.

  • Experience in design management.

  • Undertake finite element analysis as a tool to verify designs using SolidWorks
  • Undertake pipe flow and flexibility modelling and simulation
  • Produce engineering drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCad and or Inventor
  • Provide in-house engineering design and drawing checks
  • Provide fabrication workshop and site engineering support

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from an Australian recognized university
  • 10+ years working as a design mechanical engineer
  • Must be an Australian citizen and resident
  • Good experience working in a team within an industrial manufacturing, fabrication or maintenance environment
  • 2D and 3D Cad modelling and detailing experience
  • Ability to perform and present detailed engineering calculations verifying standards compliance. 
  • Ability to travel and go to site up to 15%, on an as required basis
  • Must have a current passport
  • Must have an Australian Construction Industry White Card
  • Experience in using the suite of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPEng and or RPEQ
  • Experience in the use and application, generally, of Australian Standards;
  • Strong proficiency in design and engineering of mechanical equipment and structures associated with mechanical equipment (AS 3990);
  • Experienced in the design of pressure vessels (AS 1210), pressure piping (AS 4041) and above ground storage tanks (API 620 & API 650);
  • Experienced in the application of AS1657 and AS4024 for the design of safe access systems and machinery safeguarding. 
  • Experienced in the application of the steel structures (AS 4100) and wind load (AS 1170.1) Australian Standards;

We currently have the need for a highly talented and experienced team player to join our supportive team as a Site Engineer. This a project only position based in the Riverina area of NSW and will run for approximately 18 months.
 

About the role:

  • Liaise with Project Engineers and Managers to ensure jobs are on schedule on site

  • Monitoring key construction requirements to ensure they are achieved in line with specifications

  • Implementation of prompt and safe corrective action on site if required

  • Ensuring that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that project procedures are followed

  • Maintaining all relevant project document control and records as well as assessment of risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage


To be considered for this role you will possess the following:

  • Minimum 12 months Post Graduate experience or Undergraduate experience

  • ‘Hard Dollar’ contract experience

  • Some experience in Civil construction & Structural elements

  • Some knowledge of project quality management

  • Class C Drivers Licence

  • Strong organisational skills in order to be able to manage time and plan effectively in a fast paced, diverse and ever-changing environment

  • Exceptional communication skills as one of your key strengths with the ability to negotiate and influence others at a variety of levels of the business

  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as autonomously
