The Opportunity: Safety Assurance Manager | Sydney CBD You are an experienced
Safety Assurance Manager to lead safety integrity and compliance across the Sydney Metro SSTOM project. Reporting to the Engineering Manager for Systems Integration, you will continue the development and implement a robust
safety assurance framework for the construction phase of the project.
You are a technically experienced safety professional with a proven track record in safety-critical systems, risk management, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a comprehensive safety assurance framework aligned with international and local standards (AS, IEC, RISSB, ISO, ONRSR)
- Conduct safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning
- Oversee Hazard Log management and ensure traceability of risks
- Ensure design and construction compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements
- Conduct audits and inspections, enforce corrective actions, and manage approvals
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and stakeholders
- Integrate safety assurance with RAM processes for balanced performance
- Review and validate safety testing during commissioning and support handover to operators
- Lead investigations into safety-related risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
What We’re Looking For: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Safety assurance management on large-scale infrastructure or rail projects
- Proficiency in RAM processes and risk assessment methodologies (HAZOP, FTA, FMECA)
- Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations and standards
- Excellent leadership, communication & problem-solving skills.
