  • Prepare and review fire system design reports, technical specifications, and drawings.

  • Coordinate fire protection systems with architectural, structural, and building services disciplines.

  • Lead technical discussions with clients, builders, and approval authorities.

  • Prepare and review Fire Engineering Briefs and Fire Safety Strategies in collaboration with Fire Safety Engineers.

  • Conduct system performance reviews, technical audits, and peer reviews as required.

  • Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing design guidance and quality assurance.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in fire protection system design within a consulting or contracting environment.

  • Sound technical knowledge of the BCA/NCC, relevant Australian Standards (AS 2118, AS 2419, AS 1670, AS 1851) and performance-based design methodologies.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering compliant fire protection designs across diverse project types and scales.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., Hyena or equivalent).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining design quality and meeting deadlines.

  • CPEng, NER or equivalent registration (or working toward) is desirable.
