Thomson Environmental Systems seeks an experienced and motivated Environmental Instrumentation Workshop Manager to join our high-performance staff full-time, reporting to the Commercial and Operations Manager. The Environmental Instrumentation Workshop Manager is responsible for the configuration, repair, servicing and deployment of Thomson Environmental Systems products, while ensuring the implementation of company policies, particularly Work Health and Safety. The Environmental Instrumentation Workshop Manager will meet with clients and site contractors to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.
Key duties & responsibilities:
Establishment of a suitable instrumentation workshop and repair facility for TES air quality monitoring equipment in the new Pinkenba facility.
Provision of high-level support to internal and external customers for equipment repairs and maintenance procedures.
Actioning warranty support and repairs as required.
Maintaining the workshop with required equipment including:
Calibration equipment and gases
Spare parts
Consumables
Tools as required
Use of company systems (Odoo) to manage work processes and documentation requirements.
Ensuring the workshop is operated in accordance with TES WH&S policies and procedures, and legislation such as the WHS Act and electrical safety standards.
Performing diagnostics, repairs and calibrations of TES manufactured and supplied equipment as required.
System builds for local projects as required.
Management of stock and rental equipment.
Maintenance of equipment and tools in working order.
Supervision of the Qld Field and Services Technician and coordination of Qld Field Services Operations.
Working with clients, onsite operators, contract trades people and consultants to complete successful TES installations and documentation for client handover.
Performing routine and non-routine maintenance procedures on environmental monitoring systems as required.
Customer training as required.
Ensure Jobs are closed once completed and service reports completed within expected time frames.
Experience & qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualifications (TAFE certificate/diploma or equivalent).
Previous related experiences such as ambient air quality, particulate/dust, CEMS monitoring and environmental instrumentation would be highly regarded.
Instrumentation background and/or suitable electrical skills.
3-5 years of instrumentation or electrical experience is required.
Experience with industrial communications protocols.
Sound level of computer literacy.
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team.
Precise, accurate and diligent record-keeping skills.
Australian permanent residency is required for this position.
A current driver's licence is essential for field work requirements.
