This is an exciting opportunity to join the WA Country Health Service Team at our Karratha Health Campus in the Pilbara, as District Director of Nursing & Midwifery.

 

Position Profile:

As the District Director of Nursing and Midwifery you will provide high-level nursing clinical and leadership, management, and governance within the West Pilbara district in partnership with staff and other health care providers and non-health agencies. The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Drug & Alcohol is primarily located at the St George Drug & Alcohol Service and works closely with the Service Manager to deliver senior leadership in the coordination and delivery of community treatment services, including opioid agonist treatment and ambulatory care services. The position works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, support, crisis intervention, care planning and evaluation of care in line with the NSW Health Clinical Care Standards: Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment.
 
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Drug & Alcohol delivers clinical leadership and education, and participates in research and clinical services planning in line with the criteria for a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 as per the NSW Public Health System Nurses and Midwives (State) Award. 
 
The position may be required to work across multiple SESLHD Drug & Alcohol Service locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate work teams involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, drainage, and other Council infrastructure.

About the role

As a Track Ranger, you will be the face of the Parks and Wildlife Service on one of Tasmania’s most challenging and rewarding multi-day hikes. You will maintain huts and tracks, support visitor safety, and protect the natural and cultural values of this remote reserve by:

  • Providing friendly advice, interpretation, and assistance to bushwalkers.
  • Maintaining huts, tracks, and recreational infrastructure.
  • Monitoring environmental conditions and visitor impacts.
  • Assisting with emergency response and administer First Aid.

This is seasonal fixed term role for 4.5 months, 64 hours per fortnight on an approved roster.

  • Strong bushwalking and remote area navigation skills.

About the Role
This position will work in collaboration with the WHS team to implement and advise on WHS improvements across council. This includes implementing initiatives and coordinate programs relating to the Safety Strategic Business Plan. Reporting directly to the Chief Safety Officer, the main focus of this role includes:

  • Implement the Corporate WHS System and monitor effectiveness
  • Work in Collaboration with the Chief Safety Officer, Safety Officer's and the Return to Work Coordinator as required.
  • Provide resources, including specialised WHS skills, tools and technology.
  • Provide advice and assistance in the development of safe work systems and procedures.
  • Together with operational workers, ensure safety requirements for workers, contractors and others implemented
  • Provide support to ensure workers are involved and consulted regarding issues surrounding WHS by conducting site visits and formal group meetings
  • Support and facilitate inspections, investigations, audits and hazard reporting at facilities and workplaces and that prompt remedial action follows
