About the role:

The Aboriginal Engagement Advisor (AEA) roles are regionally operational and together provide state-wide coverage to prison locations.  The AEA will conduct outward facing responsibilities which will consist of building effective relationships with Aboriginal communities and organisations.

As the AEA you will develop and strengthen relationships between the prison locations, Community Correctional Services, Aboriginal Community controlled organisations (ACCO's), post release support agencies and the Victorian Aboriginal community. You will be required to provide cultural supervision and support to prison-based AWOs and liaise with stakeholders to coordinate engagement within the prisons.

The AEA will be in consistent contact with AWO's within their allocated region and to provide advice and support to the AWO's with any issues that arise that are impacting Aboriginal people in custody.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with the local Aboriginal Community, ACCO's, other service providers and government departments, engagement and developing trust with the Community.
  • Provide face to face, on-site assistance to AWO's and Aboriginal prisoners as required
  • Develop and maintain strong effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including ACCO's towards the promotion and development of an integrated service response and service delivery to the rehabilitation and reintegration of Aboriginal prisoners and offenders.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community.
  • Experience in supervising staff that are working with Aboriginal clients with a complex trauma background.

The Role

WACOA - Harvey is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Chef to join their team.

The successful applicant will instruct and supervise all kitchen staff in day-to-day operations whilst ensuring they are adequately trained and multi skilled. You will manage the day-to-day catering requirements of the College and external groups, catering for special occasions and functions as required.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for managing high levels of quality control, storage, and hygiene in accordance with occupational health and safety standards. It is highly desirable for applicants to have experience catering for large groups.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

Home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service, RPH offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. Currently we are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The successful applicant/s will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, provides Nuclear Medicine, PET and Bone Mineral Densitometry services in accordance with the W.A Radiation Safety Act, other relevant legislation, hospital, or departmental policies. Plans, implements, and evaluates patient quality and safety and works in collaboration with colleagues.

About the Role 

  • Representing QBCC in court or tribunal proceedings.
  • Obtaining evidence in the form of statements and documents including from third parties.
  • Preparing reports regarding investigations and recommendations regarding action to be taken.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and review of policies, procedures and systems.
  • Assessing and prioritising complaints and referrals.
  • Monitoring compliance with licence conditions and other requirements the Commission may have of a licensee.
  • Oversee the preparation of cases prior to initiating action on a licence, disciplinary proceedings, and managing cases to ensure appropriate outcomes are achieved.
  • Provide authoritative advice concerning licensing standards within the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 and other legislation administered by QBCC, including:
    • Reviewing cases referred, analysing the situation, preparing briefs for senior management, and recommending action to be taken.
    • Providing advice to other QBCC staff engaged in activities in respect to licensee's continued entitlement to a licence.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the Commission and external customers.

Working closely with the City Events and Activations Team, the position supports the planning and delivery of Council’s major events and initiatives, including the iconic Lakemba Nights during Ramadan.

DUTIES.

  • Organise major community events such as Lakemba Nights, Australia Day, and Lunar New Year
  • Coordinate logistics and stakeholders to ensure seamless event delivery
  • Manage vendors, stallholders, invoicing, and procurement
  • Foster strong community and internal partnerships
  • Support after-hours operations, ensuring smooth and successful events

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.

  • Experience in Local Government or the Public Sector is necessary
  • Qualifications in Event or Marketing Management
  • Class C Driver’s License, comfortable driving a van occasionally
  • Flexibility to work after hours or weekends
