The Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Engineer/ Project Manager to provide expert project management and contract administration for a diverse range of capital infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of our community by overseeing the planning, design, and delivery of essential infrastructure.

As part of this dynamic role, you will:

• Provide comprehensive infrastructure project management for the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure projects.

• Act as Contract Superintendent or Representative, overseeing contract administration.

• Provide technical advice and reports to Council, management, and stakeholders.

• Assist with preparations of forward works programs and financial plans.

• Review designs, engineering reports, and contractor performance.

• Ensure compliance with Council policies, safety standards, and quality specifications.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, with extensive experience in project management, contract administration and delivery of infrastructure projects;

• Construction Industry Induction (White Card); and

• Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver’s licence.

• Degree +/- post grad qualifications
• Greenfield and brownfield land development experience (ideally in Victoria)

THE ROLE

Provide onsite engineering services and technical support on construction projects including façade and remediation works across various sites.

Job Description:

Project Engineer (or Senior)

• Location: All Perth WA

• Duration: Casual Contract (12 months)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer (or Senior) to oversee engineering and project execution for an Alumina Refinery project. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of capital projects, ensuring safety, quality, and stakeholder alignment throughout.

The role responsibilities include:

• Manage all phases of engineering and design, from initial studies to final delivery, within budget and timeline constraints.

• Implement design safety protocols and proactively identify and address project risks to meet operational and lifecycle standards.

• Facilitate effective communication between internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progress and alignment.

• Direct the planning and execution of sustaining capital projects across Huntly and Willowdale, ensuring strategic alignment and efficiency.

• Ensure timely completion of engineering assessments (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA) and adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare regular project updates, oversee procurement timelines, and monitor financial health to prevent overruns and ensure smooth close-out.

What you’ll have:

• 5-10(intermediate), 10–15(senior) years in engineering and project management, preferably with EPC/EPCM and site-based exposure.

• PMP or equivalent from recognized bodies (PMI, IPMA, AIPM).

• Proficient in MS Office tools and familiar with project control systems and workflows.

• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project scopes.

• Strong grasp of cost tracking, forecasting, and contract terms including cash flow and margin analysis.

• Ideally based in southern Perth with prior experience in mining or mineral processing projects.

• Prior Tier 1 / 2 experience is preferred but not essential-we value your hands-on delivery expertise above all.
• An Engineering degree is preferred.
