About the Role:
This is a crucial role within our business. The role of Leading Hand is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects. Their responsibilities involve ensuring that work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the project plans and specifications.

Manage on site staff and subcontractors
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes: (What you need to achieve)
Work the Project Manager to ensure the project gets completed on time to a high standard
Read and understand the plans and quote
Follow and assist with ensuring the gant change gets completed on time
Co-ordinating and managing variations activities on the construction site
Quality control ensuring all work is up to standard WHS and companies workman ship standard
Complete progress stages by month from start to completion ensuring dollars are correct
Work with the Project Manager for any problem solving required
Assist with management all Trades (Subcontractors and Employed Carpenters) to ensure the quality of work is to the companies standards, work is completed on time and on budget (on budget for employed carpenters means daily targets are set, monitored and results communicated to carpenters)
Liaise with Project Manager on site to ensure all large PO Material orders are received correctly
Ensure site is always clean
Ensure site is Safe at all times by enforcing all OH&S WHS required processes and procedures
Ientify and rectify any defects in an acceptable time frame
Contact and communicate with the Project Manager for any variations
Work with each client from start to finish of each job, ALWAYS communicate (if in doubt over communicate to ensure everyone is on the same page and expectations are clear)
Daily logs including photos
Mark complete on To-Do’s on Buildertrend on a daily basis

Qualifications & Experience:
Building and Construction experience in similar role
Carpentry certificate
Construction White card

We have an opportunity available for a capable and experienced plant operator to work with a road works construction crew working from a depot at Yass.
Applicants must hold a minimum of LR driver licence and have experience operating Skid Steers and Excavators. Traffic control card would also be advantageous.
Plant being operated will vary. Main operation will be skid steer and excavator but experience with other plant such as rollers would also be advantageous. You must also be willing to undertake manual labouring duties as required to assist the team in completing required work tasks.
You will be working full time hours of work (8.5 hours/day - 76 hours over a 9 day fortnight) until for a period of 3 months initially with genuine potential of further work being available for good quality workers. An attractive hourly pay rate is being offered, including overtime penalty rates and allowances for additional hours of work.
An immediate start of work is available.

Council’s Design & Placemaking Branch are seeking an Engineering Surveyor to provide Survey Services to clients across Council by providing survey and design of engineering and capital projects and prepare as constructed plans and documentation for engineering projects.
Arrange and perform engineering surveys required for planning, design, construction and maintenance activities in accordance with IPWEA standards and industry best practice.
Ensure the survey control and set out of works meet the job requirements and are to specified accuracies. Perform survey computing, data collection, processing and presentation and alignment design computing according to IPWEA’s practices, relevant council procedures and standards.
Assist with public enquiries and/or complaints of a complex nature, in relation to survey activities as required.
The successful candidate will undertake a range of surveying activities utilising CAD software applications and operate specialised surveying instruments including GPS/GNSS, Total Station, Drone and Automatic Level.
About you
As an aspiring Engineering Surveyor, you will have tertiary qualifications such as a Associate Diploma in the relevant discipline from a recognised University.
You possess an awareness in a range of computer applications including, but not limited to, Computer Aided Design; Total Station Survey operations; Geographic Positioning Systems (GPS); Laser Scanning; Drone survey processing; Civil Engineering survey programs; 12D; AutoCAD; Agisoft; Trimble Business Centre and the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
You are a competent verbal and written communicator, you will have proven ability to motivate others, manage your own time and direct the activities of others, recognise and resolve problems. Work as a positive and effective team member.
Your interest and ability to learn other computer applications is pivotal to this position.
