Protech is seeking experienced Leading Hands to join our team of casual workers supporting mechanical and structural works at a newly established precast concrete yard in Waterloo Corner and the Superway yard, manufacturing tunnel segments for one of South Australia’s largest infrastructure projects.
This is a long-term opportunity to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment alongside skilled teams, contributing to a once-in-a-generation build.
About the Role
As a Leading Hand, you’ll play a key role in supervising and coordinating daily operations across the yard. You’ll lead by example, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met while supporting your team to deliver high-quality precast concrete components.

About the Role
As a Leading Hand, you’ll play a key role in supervising and coordinating daily operations across the yard. You’ll lead by example, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met while supporting your team to deliver high-quality precast concrete components.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of precast labourers and operators
- Oversee the production of precast concrete tunnel segments
- Coordinate mould preparation, concrete pouring, stripping, and finishing
- Ensure compliance with WHS procedures and site safety protocols
- Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to project specifications
- Liaise with supervisors and project managers to meet production targets
- Support training and development of team members
- Perform hands-on tasks as required, including manual handling and equipment operation
- Proven experience in a similar Leading Hand or supervisory role
- Strong background in precast concrete, construction, or manufacturing
- White Card (Construction Induction) – essential
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Physically fit and safety-focused
- Forklift licence – desirable
- Ability to motivate and mentor a team in a high-output environment
