You’ll play a key role on-site, supporting the Site Supervisor and leading a team of skilled carpenters to ensure every detail is executed to the highest standard.

With a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming projects across the
Sydney metro area, they’re now seeking an experienced
Leading Hand who is ready to take ownership of site operations and play a key part in the delivery of high-quality, one-of-a-kind homes.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the
Site Supervisor, you’ll act as their right-hand person, taking responsibility for daily on-site coordination, quality control, and ensuring smooth progress across all stages of construction.
You’ll lead by example, guiding carpenters and trades while remaining hands-on across all aspects of carpentry and finishing. This is a key leadership role suited to someone with strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a genuine passion for building craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and lead a team of carpenters and trades on-site
- Coordinate daily site activities and ensure safe, efficient workflow
- Interpret and work from architectural drawings and detailed plans
- Execute and oversee all aspects of carpentry including framing, stick building, roof pitching, and detailed finishing work
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all visible timber and finishing work meets premium standards
- Work closely with the Site Supervisor to manage timelines, materials, and subcontractors
- Assist in problem-solving and making informed construction decisions on-site
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safety-compliant worksite
- Mentor apprentices and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
About You:
You’re an experienced carpenter who takes pride in your workmanship and has a strong eye for detail. You enjoy working on architecturally designed projects and thrive in a leadership position where you can make a tangible impact.
You will have:- Trade Qualification in Carpentry (Cert III minimum)
- Proven experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Carpenter on high-end or architectural residential projects
- Strong finishing skills and a passion for quality craftsmanship
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and drawings
- Solid experience in framing, roof pitching, and stick building
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Sound problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
- A genuine interest in long-term career development with the company
