Role Overview:

Purpose:

Metro Recycling & Waste Management is a rapidly growing fast paced company with the focus on collection, transport and recycling. We are experiencing rapid growth and looking for full time drivers to help and support our operation.


Duties /Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of truck prior to beginning route to ensure safe operating conditions. 

  • Refuel the truck with appropriate fuel and other necessary liquid while inspecting the truck before operation

  • Notify your supervisor of any defective equipment

  • Operate automated or manual bin lifting devices

  • Communicate with supervisor with any delays, unsafe or accidents equipment breakdowns and other maintenance problems

  • Navigate short and safe ways to destinations, ensuring that timeliness is kept to a priority.

  • Emptying and changing over of skip bins

  • Training provided (experience preferred)

About the role

The Trade Warehouse Operator / Counter Sales role is a full-time position based at our Bayswater North, VIC store. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role primarily focuses on warehouse operations, with additional responsibilities in customer service and delivery support as needed.

In this role you will:

 

  • Perform a range of warehouse operations including stock movements, order picking, inventory counts, and general housekeeping.
  • Operate forklifts to load customer vehicles and move stock within the warehouse.
  • Handle manual tasks such as lifting and unwrapping products as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, product labelling, and presentation standards.
  • Provide customer service support by attending to enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist with deliveries when needed.

 

Your hours are Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 3:00pm.

 

About you:

  • Current forklift license with sufficient experience is essential.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy products as required (manual handling involved).

About the role

As the Kennards Hire representative to our customers, we support you with the training and development you need to be successful in your role. The Service Person Driver is the critical link between a Kennards Hire branch, our customers and their projects, big or small. You'll be in charge of everything that makes our customers' job easy; expert advice, pickups, deliveries and making sure our equipment is ready for hire.



This role requires you to;

  • Instruct and demonstrate to customers on how to safely use our equipment.
  • As the Driver, perform pickup and delivery of equipment from customer sites, which includes safely loading and unloading of equipment
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all customer interactions
  • Maintain the high standard and quality of equipment through regular servicing and minor repairs.
  • Perform cleaning of branch facilities and maintenance of equipment as required
  • Perform equipment 'check in' and 'check out' inspections

About you

  • Successful applicants have come from various backgrounds such as; Customer service, building & construction, hospitality, retail, driver, landscaping, trade & maintenance.
  • A valid driver's licence
  • The availability to work weekends on a rotating roster
  • This role requires some physical components including lifting and standing on your feet for long periods. A level of physical fitness is required and the ability to pass a drug test
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be proactive and keen to learn new skills
  • An interest in machinery and equipment, although training will be provided
  • A positive attitude and team player
