About the Role

Alcoa is seeking a skilled Technical Manager to lead and deliver strategic tailings and residue planning and operational support across our Wagerup and Pinjarra refineries. Based at our Pinjarra office, this high-impact role offers strategic visibility and leadership within the tailings area, driving performance and accountability while elevating its operational profile. Reporting to the Operations Manager (Pinjarra Refinery), with a dotted line to Wagerup’s Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in bridging short- and medium-term residue planning, navigating complex challenges, and aligning operational and capital project goals to ensure resilient and sustainable tailings management.

In this role, you will:

• Be accountable for the development, quality, and delivery of short-term improvement plans and the 5-year site Residue Plan in line with site Master Plans.

• Manage a team of Geotechnical and Civil Engineers.

• Lead, develop, and deliver the high-level 5-year Residue Plan, including approvals, deposition, and remediation.

• Ensure milestones and deadlines are met on the 5-year Residue Plans.

• Align the 5-year plan with the Master Plan and current state of residue.

• Develop short-term plans to ensure compliance with GISTM and REX processes, including resourcing and financial approvals.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

• Provide regular updates, risk assessments, and scenario analyses to senior leadership.

• Engage with external stakeholders including regulators, community groups, and joint venture partners.

What you can bring to the role

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology/Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering (depending on residue management focus).

• Minimum 8 years of mining or residue experience.

• At least 3 years in site-based residue/tailings operational roles with supervisory experience.

About you

• AQF Cert. III or equivalent in mechanical or electrical trade.

The Role
Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy for the role of Auto Electrician. Reporting to the George Fisher Mine Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in safely and effectively performing planned and reactive maintenance tasks. Working in a team and promoting site safety standards, you will ensure that the highest quality of work is conducted and maintained. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and require you to work a roster comprising of 7 on 7 off day and night continuous shift.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Demonstrate and promote a high level of safety commitment
• Work thoroughly and consistently when maintaining site vehicles and equipment
• Work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary trade team
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, component change outs, diagnostics in our surface and underground workshops, including in the field
• Perform works on a range of mobile mining equipment including Caterpillar, Sandvik, Epiroc, Normet and Komatsu.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects

The successful candidate will possess:

• Trade qualification – Auto Electrical
• Capability in reading and interpreting auto electrical schematics
• Ability to conduct fault fianding on electrical systems and machines

About the Role

You'll be fully responsible for project delivery across crushing, screening, and related works. Your leadership will establish the tone for safety, structure, and communication on site, making sure every crew and contractor operates according to plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor supervisors, operators and maintenance personnel to achieve safety and production targets

• Oversee HSEQ, cost, performance, labour, subcontractors and suppliers

• Ensure all risk assessments, inspections, and safety consultations are completed, recorded and actioned in the safety management software in line with ISO and company requirements
