Gold Road Personnel are a West Perth based company, specialising in recruitment within the Mining & Resources sector.


On behalf of one of our clients, a mid-tier gold producer with a growing presence in Western Australia, we are seeking an OHST/Training Advisor to join their team at an underground mining operation in the Mid-West Region.


Salary & General Details:
  • Permanent Position
  • 8/6 Roster available FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton

Requirements to be considered:
  • Extensive experience in an underground mining operational role.
  • Experience in facilitating training and verifying competency.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, training and risk management principles.
  • Experience with incident investigation methodologies, (e.g., ICAM)
  • Proficient in OHST management systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with other programs which include INX and Pronto.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) is essential and Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (preferred).
  • Hold a WA Driver's Licence (manual C Class)
  • Provide a National Police Clearance
  • Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen

About the Role:

A full position description can be provided upon application, however duties include but are not limited to;
  • Deliver theory, conduct inductions & assess operator competency against site standards and regulatory requirements and issue appropriate licences 
  • Develop new training materials and update existing programs and procedures to ensure they meet current and future needs and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct and/or participate in risk assessments of site work activities and conditions, including high risk tasks and shutdown activities.
  • Monitor the completion of recommendations and actions from incident investigations, inspections and audits.
  • Provide advice and support to site in the implementation of OHST policies and procedures.
  • Assist with accident/incident investigations.
  • Assist with maintaining and reviewing the site Safety Management System, relevant Management Plans and associated procedures.
  • Monitor and analyse safety and training performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response.
