Your Role and Responsibilities:

Public Transport is an essential service and Transdev are committed to providing a safe and reliable bus service to our passengers. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic at Transdev, you will be responsible for all facets of maintaining our fleet of buses to ensure we can deliver a clean, safe, and comfortable journey to our community. In order to meet roadworthy compliance, your daily focus will be conducting safety checks, trouble shooting and diagnosing repairs as well as preventative maintenance. Previous experience working with Buses is desirable but not mandatory. Training is also provided on Electric mobility fleets via State Led Education program and OEM Training on High Voltage components.

The Talent you bring:

  • Australian Recognised Mechanic Trade Certificate (essential) or TAFE Cert III Heavy Vehicle Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Current HR or C Class drivers license (or ability to obtain) a licence upgrade to HR is on offer

Position advertised:

We are looking for a permanent full-time Carpenter Tradesperson to join our Cairns based team to fulfil the duties of Service Manager (Building)

This position is an office based role, the successful applicant will work alongside a secondary / current Service Manager (Building) and will report to the Operations Manager (IBS).

The applicant should consider themselves an organised and reliable individual with relevant trade based experience, excellent communication skills, adept with computers and competent abilities to organise a team of tradespersons and apprentices.  


Qualifications:

You must hold a Certificate III in Building and Construction and have completed a course in apply risk management processes to be a suitable applicant.

You must hold a Construction Induction Card (QLD White Card) to be a suitable applicant.

You must hold a current National Police Check or be willing to obtain one.


Experience:

We are looking for a candidate that has a minimum of 5-years experience (desirable) as a Carpenter Tradesperson.

Applicants with past experience as a leading hand, work group leader, service manager, or operations manager will be favoured.

Standard work hours:

  • 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday.
