The Role
Reporting to the CEO and leading a team of 20+, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the integrity of all financial management and reporting across the organisation. The role supports informed decision-making, ensuring financial resources are effectively aligned with Southern Cross Care Tasmania's goals and mission, positioning the organisation for future success.

About the role
The Hopkins Group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Melbourne. This is a 12-month contract position where you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our organization. As Finance Manager, you will play a key strategic role in supporting the continued growth and success of our business.
What you'll be doing
Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for all group companies and divisions
Oversee monthly management financials, variance reports, and supplementary reporting
Prepare monthly Executive Summary for the Board
Manage daily cash flow and prepare forecasts
Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes
Coordinate annual accounts and taxation with tax accountants
Lead the annual audit process and ensure regulatory compliance
Prepare monthly payroll tax, IAS and quarterly BAS for all companies
Manage superannuation payments and reconciliations
Liaise with banks on capital leasing and general banking matters
Participate in M&A projects, including due diligence, financial modeling, and post-merger integration
Identify and implement synergies and cost optimization opportunities
What we're looking for
Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CPA, CA)
Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Proficient in the use of accounting software and financial modelling tools
Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Position Overview
This role is for 5 days per week, with an immediate start available.
The Bookkeeper will manage core financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and will report directly to the Finance Manager. We are seeking someone organised, accurate, and confident in communicating with both internal staff and external suppliers.
Australian citizenship is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing
A mix of bookkeeping, accounts administration, and customer support, including:
Accounts & BookkeepingManage IAS and BAS preparation, including GST coding and checking transactions by field.
Oversee TPAR reporting.
Reconcile supplier statements against purchase orders.
Invoice all service and maintenance work in coordination with the Operations Manager.
Manage Accounts Receivable, including follow-ups and end-of-month statements.
Raise and allocate subcontractor purchase orders.
Review staff receipts and allocate them to jobs, POs, and Xero.
Complete back-costing for service work.
