About the role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team at the Sydney Markets. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and effective coordination with internal teams.

This role is on the stand at the markets, shift is Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm.

Main tasks/responsibilities

The list below is not exhaustive, and the duties/responsibilities may vary to meet the overall objectives of the company.

• Data Entry

  • Record pallet counts on sales orders for picking slips.

  • Book in stock (Inventory) received.

• Customer Service and Invoicing

  • Completing Sales Orders and Invoicing.

  • Processing Credit Notes.

  • Resolving customer queries.

  • Providing copies of invoices upon request.

  • Set up customer accounts as requested by the Sales Team.

  • Email handling.

• Payment Collection

  • Collect and allocate daily payments (Cash or EFTPOS) to respective invoices.

  • Reconcile cash on hand with the cash book at the end of each day.

  • Prepare daily banking for collection.

  • Generate and maintain Debtors Reports.

Essential Criteria

The ideal candidate is highly motivated and engaging. You will have the ability to multitask, prioritise and work autonomously.

• Able to work 6:00am - 2:00pm Monday to Friday

• Attention to detail

• Works well independently and in a team environment

• Previous 2+ years' experience in similar role

• Bachelor’s in Accounting / Finance.

• Full working rights in Australia.

Desirable

• Industry experience in food service/hospitality.

• Experience of working in Sydney Markets.

• Ability to commence earlier than 6am to backfill for leave.
