Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Desktop Estimator to join our team on a full-time basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a trade background or technical knowledge in residential building who is looking for a change, or for an administrator with extensive construction experience looking to progress their career. Based in Beenleigh, with the option for remote work, this position provides a stimulating and varied workload within a professional and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Utilise desktop estimation software and other relevant tools to assess property damage and determine repair costs for residential building insurance claims.
Liaise with insurance companies, clients, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
Review project specifications, drawings, and photos to evaluate scope of work and identify any potential challenges or discrepancies.
Prepare detailed and accurate estimates in a timely manner, adhering to company standards and industry best practices.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project transitions and efficient communication throughout the estimation process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and industry regulations to ensure accurate assessments and compliance with relevant standards.
Requirements:
Experience with Prime Ecosystem is a must.
Previous experience in residential building estimation, preferably in the insurance repairs sector, is highly regarded.
Strong technical knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and relevant regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately assess property damage and determine repair costs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills, able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Trade background or relevant qualifications in building and construction preferred.

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-sufficient Senior Estimator to join our team, bringing their own proven track record of accurate and competitive estimating.
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and independent Senior Estimator who possesses a robust set of pricing templates and a deep understanding of construction costing. You will be responsible for managing the entire estimating process, from initial tender to project handover, and demonstrating the versatility to handle diverse project scopes, including operational management work. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methodologies, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilise your own established and proven pricing templates to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for a variety of construction projects.
Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Prepare and submit competitive tenders.
Manage tender submissions, RFQ’s and take-offs through BuildXact.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate project costing.
Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of all estimates and related documentation.
Assisting daily operations for live projects and collaborating with Project/Site managers.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Senior Estimator in the construction industry.
Excellent computer skills and construction software knowledge.
Must possess and demonstrate proficiency in using your own established and proven pricing templates.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and costs.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proven experience with operational maintenance estimating is essential.
Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Construction Management, Quantity Surveying) are preferred.
