Consolidated Power Projects is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Secondary to join our engineering team in Melbourne.
Secondary Design Engineers deliver timely and accurate technical designs while supporting field staff, customers and colleagues. The successful candidate will be able to produce accurate precision designs required for secondary protection and control (PAC) systems in the high voltage utility and renewable sectors. You will deliver complex internal and external secondary system design projects, and demonstrate capability of checking secondary system design outputs.
You will join a highly regarded in-house Design & Engineering team of over 170 experienced professionals and play an integral role in the successful delivery of various industry leading projects.

JOB SUMMARY
I'm seeking a skilled and customer-centric Field Service Technician to support advanced medical equipment across Melbourne and surrounding regions. This is a hands-on, field-based role that blends technical expertise with strong interpersonal and commercial acumen. You’ll be the face of the service team, working closely with hospitals and healthcare providers to ensure medical sterilisation equipment is installed, maintained, and supported to the highest standards.
This role demands a unique mix of electrical registration, mechanical or HVAC experience, and a solid understanding of sterilisation systems - including steam, water, air, and hydraulics. Prior experience in surgical, endoscopy, or CSSD environments will be highly regarded.
While 20% of your time will be spent on technical tasks, the remaining 80% is customer-facing - requiring excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Field service experience is non-negotiable, Electrical license holders will be prioritised.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background and excellent interpersonal skills. You’ll be responsible for installing, validating, maintaining, and repairing medical equipment, while delivering exceptional customer service and training.
Developing and executing technical service functions for medical equipment
Performing equipment installations, preventive maintenance, validations, and field repairs
Providing responsive customer support via site visits, phone, and email
Delivering in-service sessions and supporting clinical trials to demonstrate product applications
Conducting user, application, and technical training for healthcare staff
Logging and managing product complaints in line with company procedures
Assisting with spare parts inventory and documentation
Identifying training gaps and recommending solutions
Maintaining accurate records of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities
Updating internal procedures and service documentation
Managing equipment and spares database, including tracking movement and repair status
Delivering high-quality after-sales support and building strong client relationships
Participating in on-call duties as required, with flexibility for short-notice assignments
Supporting installation projects that may require travel and time away from home.
REQUIREMENTS
Medical industry background preferred - experience in Endoscopy, Surgical, CSSD, or Sterilisation environments highly desired
Electrical qualification and registration - test and tag, restricted/full electrical license, or trade-qualified electrician
Field service experience - essential due to travel demands across the territory
Mechanical or HVAC experience - strong hands-on skills required
Experience with boiler, steam, air, water, and hydraulic systems is desirable
Willingness to travel for installation projects
Strong commercial acumen and people skills - this role is 80% customer-facing
Comfortable working both independently and within a small team that values mutual support.
Self-driven but team-oriented - knows when to lead and when to lean on others.
