ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to an increasing pipeline of project opportunities in NSW, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in our Pyrmont, NSW office, assisting with the development of consistent, high-quality estimates to support our pursuit of projects across the transport and civil infrastructure sectors.

As the Senior Estimator you will be reporting to National Pre Contracts Manager and you will be responsible for leading and/or overseeing the development, review and submission of pricing estimates for tender opportunities in NSW.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Reviewing tender documentation and preparing drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Preparing and managing the development of detailed cost estimates, including quantity take offs, sourcing of quotations, and assistance in the preparation of tender submissions/proposals for various  construction projects
  • Consultation and collaboration with various internal functional support and operational teams
  • Engaging with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Interpretation and application of relevant project information and requirements, including contract documentation, drawings, construction methodology and staging, relevant legislation, specifications, standards, and codes
  • Managing the formal estimate review process, including preparation of relevant reports and presentations and leading internal management review meetings.
  • Lead, mentor, and support team members to achieve performance goals, encourage professional development, and promote a collaborative and positive team environment.

To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in the Construction Industry – Preferably NSW experience
  • Civil Engineering Degree or similar tertiary qualification
  • Experience working with Tier 1 or 2 Companies
  • Experience in working on TfNSW and/or NSW infrastructure projects – highly regarded
  • Earthworks, roadworks, structures and services installation onsite experience preferred
  • Ability to use and experience in expert estimation software (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to understand how to build up self-preformed work crews
