Position description

You will have the opportunity to work on a large range of earth moving equipment working within the mining and civil industry.

In this position you will be responsible for the servicing repair and maintenance of mobile plant equipment including fault finding and diagnostics to assist the prevention of break downs or unexpected down time of machinery.

At times you will be working autonomously within your role and therefore must show imitative and a strong understanding of the plant.

We’re looking for a highly skilled Sheet Membrane Applicator to join our growing team at WaterstopNSW. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Ardex WPM 1000 and be confident working on complex waterproofing projects across residential and commercial sites.

You’ll be working alongside a professional crew that takes pride in quality, precision, and compliance above industry standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of Ardex WPM 1000 sheet membrane systems

  • Heat welding laps and joints to ensure complete and watertight seals

  • Detailing terminations, corners, and penetrations with high precision

  • Adhering membranes using Ardex WA 98 or equivalent approved adhesives

  • Ensuring membrane laps are pick-tested and fully welded

  • Conducting on-site quality checks, including flood testing and moisture readings

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe worksite

Requirements
  • Proven experience installing Ardex WPM 1000 or similar sheet membrane systems (minimum 3 years preferred)

The Opportunity:

Our branches in the Pilbara are seeking skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our dedicated service team. In this role, you will be essential in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance and repair services to Komatsu customers in the Pilbara region.

Your key responsibilities will include machine diagnostics, repairs, and coordinating site-based equipment maintenance projects, ensuring the reliability and performance of Komatsu machinery.

We are looking for a qualified mobile plant mechanic with strong technical knowledge of Komatsu equipment, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Multiple roles are available, including Field Service, Site-Based & Workshop positions. Field Service employees will be provided with a work vehicle.

Annualised Wages: Up to $230,000 + super (Based on 2:1 roster)

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced, safety-focused Leading Hand to join our workshop team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead by example — working on the tools while supporting and guiding your team. You’ll assist the Supervisor with the day-to-day operations of the workshop and ensure all work meets our high-quality standards.

Basic Requirements

  • Australian recognized trade certificate – Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication.

  • Minimum 5 years post-trade experience.

  • Able to pass FCAW 4G weld test

  • Experience with ISO compliance and a keen eye for quality and QA/QC

  • High Risk Work License, Elevated Work Platform (EWP)  Current Working at Heights, Confined Spaces & Gas Testing- (will provide training and cert for the right candidate)

  • Experience with Bucket/Tray work & crack repairs (highly desirable)

  • Experience with HME products from CAT, Liebherr, Komatsu & Hitachi

  • Provide regular updates to the Workshop Supervisor to ensure timelines are met and communication is maintained

  • Experience with ISO compliance and a keen eye for quality and QA/QC.

  • When required conduct pre-start meetings to cover all daily issues including; safety, job requirements, communication etc. 

  • Ability to jump in and assist team members on the job front.

  • Ability to read and understand detailed shop drawings and to provide recommendations/solutions to improve the final product.

  • To ensure that jobs and safety instructions issued by the Workshop Supervisor are carried out as required. 


In addition, you will:

  • Ability to mentor team members

  • Be experienced in Flux Core, MIG, stick & Arc Air Gouging 

  • Be highly motivated, with the ability to work alone and within a team.

  • Be confident to build, repair & fabricate components for all plant & equipment
