Position Summary

The NOC Operator - Security plays a key role in delivering reliable and consistent support to field security officers, clients, and management teams across Australia.

This position is responsible for real-time monitoring, incident coordination, call handling, rostering updates, and client communication, ensuring that all services are completed safely, compliantly, and within set timeframes.

Operators work on a rotating roster, providing 24/7 coverage from the National Operations Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Monitor security operations, alarms, CCTV systems, and job workflows through Allied’s NOC platform (Allied EDGE and other systems).

  • Log, track, and close incidents and work orders in real-time with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Support the deployment and coordination of security staff across national sites.

  • Manage roster updates, shift changes, and absence coverage under direction of the NOC Service Manager.

  • Ensure client and site data in Allied EDGE is up to date, including rosters, location details, and contact information.

  • Follow escalation protocols for missed patrols, alarm responses, and emergency incidents.

  • Prepare and submit daily operational summaries and shift handover reports.

Incident Management

  • Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergency calls following set procedures.

  • Record accurate incident details, actions taken, and outcomes in the NOC system.

  • Communicate with field teams, clients, and management to coordinate timely responses.

  • Escalate serious or high-risk matters to the NOC Service Manager or on-call leadership.

  • Support emergency coordination efforts during critical incidents or system failures.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Provide clear, courteous, and professional communication to clients, contractors, and Allied team members.

  • Maintain a customer-first approach in all interactions.

  • Ensure all calls, messages, and requests are logged and actioned promptly.

  • Follow up on outstanding client requests or service gaps to ensure timely resolution.

WHS & Compliance

  • Ensure all activities comply with Allied’s WHS, quality, and security protocols.

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and operational information at all times.

  • Report hazards, incidents, and non-conformances through appropriate channels.

  • Maintain current security licensing and training certifications.

 Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of shift activities, incidents, and communications.

  • Assist with weekly performance reports, KPI tracking, and incident analytics.

  • Participate in training sessions and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

Experience & Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a control room, security operations centre, or service coordination role (preferred).

  • Understanding of security operations, access control, and alarm monitoring systems.

  • Security Licence (Minimum 1E licence) – essential

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dispatch/incident management platforms.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable).

About the Role
