The Impact Assessment Unit in the State Planning Assessment and Facilitation division is responsible for administering Victoria's statutory environmental impact assessment (EIA) system for major projects, in particular the Environment Effects Act 1978 (EE Act) and Bilateral Agreement with the Commonwealth under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). This supports the Minister for Planning and government to make timely, informed assessments and decisions, and proponents to evaluate and refine their proposals efficiently in the context of effective EIA and stakeholder input. At a practical level, the unit manages processes ensuring integrated, robust assessment of impacts, works with agencies to elicit inputs, ensures a coordinated approach and provides governance for statutory compliance.

The Impact Assessor will work in an agile, multi-disciplinary team that provides advice and implements statutory requirements for environmental impact assessment of major projects under Victorian and Commonwealth legislation, including energy projects. The team delivers high quality and timely environmental impact assessments. The Impact Assessor will contribute technical expertise, authoritative advice, and sound project management of impact assessments and statutory processes.

Project Engineer – Structures
As a respected Developer/builder in the multi storey space we are seeking a versatile Project Engineer to support both site and commercial functions. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys the detail, loves to solves problems, thrives under pressure, and brings a proactive mindset to every stage of project delivery.
Role Overview
As the Project Engineer - Structures, you’ll be overseeing the structures package of a 16 Storey mid rise development in the Perth western suburbs. You’ll help ensure the project Structural build runs smoothly, documentation is accurate, Structural details are adhered to by the structures contractor and all Quality control documentation is completed in a timely fashion. You will manage, liaise and review the monthly claims from all contractors associated with the structure build and ensure commercial outcomes are maximized. Based on site expect you will liaise closely with the Structural design team and lead any RFI queries from the sub contractors and propose solutions to the Design consultants for any technical coordination, You will forecast material supply requirements in line with progress on site to ensure contractors have the materials needed for Reo and concrete installations and call up concrete quantities to the batch plant curing treatments. You will support the rest of the site management team from a co-ordination point of view with services installations etc
It is envisaged that this role will morph into a project manager role on completion of the Structure
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with the project Administration team to manage documentation, variations, and claims within the Structures package
Track activities and costs through Procore and other reporting tools
Coordinate quality assurance submissions and compliance records
Assist in onboarding processes for new projects, ensuring readiness and alignment
Review and identify key deliverables and risks
Support tender submissions and post-bid negotiations
What You’ll Need
A degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
4 to 5 years experience either on site as project engineer or in a design office and wanting to gain some field experience.
Strong digital literacy and familiarity with construction software
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Solid understanding of contract frameworks and subcontractor engagement
A collaborative attitude and willingness to work as part of team to ensure the success of the team
