THE ROLE

To be an effective Senior Child Protection Practitioner, you will have a strong sense of social justice and understand that families are complex, with their own unique histories. Importantly, you will be able to collaborate with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice, provide effective service delivery and to support other practitioners in the development of plans to bring about the changes necessary to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people.

At the CPP5.1 Senior Practitioner level, you will supervise team members in daily tasks through a structured and supportive learning program. This role will hold a caseload commensurate with supervisory responsibilities.

The transportation of children is a requirement of this role, as such a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel, including in country regions is essential. There may be the requirement to work overnight and, travel in evenings and early mornings. On occasions, additional hours may be required to ensure the wellbeing of children.

You will possess an understanding of Aboriginal culture and demonstrate an understanding of the legislative, policy and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities, including the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle and the programs and initiatives that support its implementation in child protection practice.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for two Allied Health Lead Practitioners for CYMHS Youth Forensic Mental Health one in the North and one in the North West of Tasmania.

Our Aim:

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Tasmania is growing! We are seeking passionate and dedicated Lead Practitioners to provide clinical services with children and young people experiencing mental health concerns who are in out of home care. The positions available are within our new teams which are currently being developed as initiatives under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).

The Lead Practitioner will be part of the Youth Forensic Mental Health team and will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach, trauma informed therapy, and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high level clinical leadership to the team.

  • Leadership training is available and provided by the Tasmanian Health Service in partnership with University of Tasmania.

The role will include:

  • Being part of a dynamic and well supported team committed to delivering high quality trauma informed mental health services to children and young people.
  • Undertaking clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs
  • Working alongside innovative team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new child and youth mental health services in Tasmania. 
  • Leading and working with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

About the Role

The Shire of Murray is seeking a motivated and versatile professional to provide administrative and organisational support across the Community and Economic Development Directorate.

This part-time position (25–30 hours per week, negotiable across 4–5 days) plays an important role in supporting a wide range of services, including community development, tourism and events, libraries, recreation, and economic development. A EBA Level 6 salary is on offer - $83,063.15 to $88,557.30 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

About the role

Mater Health has is seeking an experienced NDIS Coordinator to join our Allied Health team in this permanent, full-time opportunity based at South Brisbane.

The Allied Health Clinical Lead – NDIS provides authoritative guidance, consultation and clinical leadership to support coordinated care and safe discharge of NDIS participants with complex care needs across Mater Health hospitals. 

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to guide, consult, advise and support clinicians, patients and services involved in the care and discharge of patients to ensure timely and safe transition to the community.  The position also supports building clinical capability through education, training and service improvement.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, the purpose of the role is to deliver competent and professional assistance to clients, families, clinicians and care providers. Key tasks will include:

  • Provide clinical leadership, independent judgement and expertise to support the development of care pathways with internal and external stakeholders to achieve complex discharge planning and community transition for NDIS participants
  • Provide authoritative guidance, and consultation to support targeted solutions for NDIS patients at risk of prolonged hospital stays due to their complex care needs

About you

The ideal candidate will have a degree/post-graduate qualification in an Allied Health profession from a recognised tertiary institution.

  • Eligible for registration as a health practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for membership with the relevant health professional association (as appropriate)
  • Demonstrated high level clinical practice and independent clinical judgement in an acute hospital setting including formulating targeted and patient focussed plans with realistic and achievable goals based on contemporary practice
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills including the ability to negotiate with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders to facilitate complex discharge planning
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, contribute to decision making and address conflict with profession and multidisciplinary teams, patients, carers and external stakeholders
  • Comprehensive knowledge of agencies, legislation, policies and resources relating to NDIS
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and evaluate service improvements to improve clinical services and patient outcomes

Banyule City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Emissions Reduction Officer to help us deliver on our ambitious climate action targets and support the implementation of key emissions reduction projects.

About the role

As our Emissions Reduction Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting Council's Corporate Emissions Reduction Plan. You'll manage our carbon inventory, champion data-driven decision-making for energy efficiency and emissions reduction and ensure our Sustainable Building Guidelines are implemented and maintained across the organisation.

What you'll do

This role offers an opportunity to play a key role in driving Banyule City Council's transition to zero carbon operations. With a target of achieving Real Zero for Scope 1 emissions by 2028 and Scope 3 emissions by 2035, our commitment to sustainability is supported by clear strategies and backed by senior leadership. The position offers diverse responsibilities spanning energy management, sustainable design, and climate action delivery.

Lead the way in sustainability: Manage Banyule's carbon inventory and utility/solar platforms, compiling and maintaining vital data on energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and solar performance.

Drive innovation: Champion our Sustainable Building Guidelines, supporting major construction projects and asset upgrades for strong environmental outcomes.

Empower change: Advise on energy reduction initiatives, using evidence-based approaches to identify and launch new opportunities.

Shape the future: Support the implementation of Council's climate action strategies, policies, and programs, especially those within the Corporate Emissions Reduction Plan.

Secure resources: Prepare grant applications, business cases, and feasibility studies to help us achieve our climate action goals.

About you (what you'll bring/what we are looking for)

You're passionate about sustainability and climate action, with strong technical knowledge in energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and renewable energy. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and bring initiative, integrity, and responsibility to everything you do. You'll have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in energy efficiency, emissions reduction and renewable energy generation.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound analytical and conceptual skills and evidence of the ability to manage a variety of complex tasks concurrently under tight time constraints.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Risk Management

The consultant role, with support and coaching from the Senior Consultant, leads the end-to-end design, development and implementation of contemporary learning and capability solutions that improve employee and organisational capability and performance.

Note, one of the two roles has an increased focus initially on the facilitation and maintenance of our four week Claims Induction program, which is conducted monthly. So, a background in both L&D and the claims management industry would be beneficial for this role.
