About the Role

The Shire of Murray is seeking a motivated and versatile professional to provide administrative and organisational support across the Community and Economic Development Directorate.

This part-time position (25–30 hours per week, negotiable across 4–5 days) plays an important role in supporting a wide range of services, including community development, tourism and events, libraries, recreation, and economic development. A EBA Level 6 salary is on offer - $83,063.15 to $88,557.30 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing responsive and accurate administrative support to the Director, Managers and senior staff within the Directorate.
  • Assisting with the preparation of Council reports, agendas and minutes.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of civic and community events.
  • Coordinating records management, purchasing and reporting processes.
  • Providing occasional flexible support for out of hours Council meetings, community events or important meetings with the Director (with time in lieu provided).

This is a diverse role, well-suited to someone who enjoys variety, can pivot when needed, and is adaptable, solutions-focused, and collaborative as part of a team.


About you

  • Strong administration experience, ideally in a multi-functional environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initiative, adaptability and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to support both the Director and the broader Directorate.
  • Experience in supporting the planning and delivery of community events (desirable).
  • Experience in local government (desirable).
