Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering to satisfy Professional Membership criterion of Engineers Australia or other Professional Body as aligned to the Washington Accord.
  • Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business required licenses, authorisations and other such certificates deemed necessary for the role.
  • WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate (or willing to obtain).




Desirable

  • Experience with data visualisation platforms such as PowerBI

📍 Location: Hybrid – 2 days/week in office (Chifley Tower, Sydney CBD or Bella Vista)

 

👉 Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Systems Engineer to join a dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in designing, implementing, and managing both Linux and Windows server environments. This role requires a strong understanding of automation, configuration management, and modern DevOps practices to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure.

 

🔧 Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in the design and implementation of Linux & Windows server image deployment and management (SOE).
  • Strong background in building server operating systems and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Expertise in automation and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Terraform, PowerShell, and vRealize Automation.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles.
  • Experience with server validation and assurance.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud environments including VMware, AWS, and Azure.

 

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Standard Operating Environments (SOEs) for Linux and Windows servers.
  • Build and configure server operating systems, including SOP creation.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and configuration management using preferred tools.
  • Apply CI/CD principles to streamline deployment and integration processes.
  • Perform server validation and assurance to meet compliance and performance standards.
  • Support and maintain infrastructure across cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues to ensure high availability.
  • Document processes, configurations, and system changes for operational transparency.
