Purpose

Deliver specialised financial analysis and business partnering for our loyalty ecosystem, translating complex program economics into actionable intelligence. The Audit, Safety and Risk team sits within the Governance and Risk Directorate and is responsible for providing a wide range of internal services to the organisation focused on risk, insurance, audit and work health and safety.

The recipients of the 2022 Safework NSW – Work Health and Safety Excellence Showcase award for Champions in Large Business (Government) category, the team are concentrating on driving a collaborative approach to educating staff on safety matters that impact their day to day life. In addition, we are also ensuring Council’s internal audit plan targets our high risks areas and complies with relevant laws, standards and legislation, and making improvements across our claims process.

In contributing to the overarching vision, the Senior Coordinator Internal Audit and Risk is responsible for seeking to accomplish Council’s objectives by bringing a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 14 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $2,303.00 to $2,648.45 per week, plus 12% superannuation

What you'll need to have for this role:

  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required

About this Role

The SMSF team consists of a Team Leader, 1 x Junior SMSF Accountant and a Client Services Coordinator. You will sit between the Team Leader and Junior Accountant in managing circa 400 superannuation funds.

The role is suitable for someone passionate about SMSF's and experienced in end to end compliance and looking to develop their SMSF career.


Skills and Experience

In your new role as SMSF Specialist, you will enjoy plenty of interaction both in person and on the phone.

  • 3+ SMSF experience and willingness to continue developing
