This is a senior role in the business overseeing the design on some highly technical and interesting projects in Sydney. 

Ideal sector experience: Health, Commercial and Data Centres. 

Must have: Sydney Tier 1 or 2 commercial construction experience for a number of years. 
  
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the projects will run timely and cost-effective
  • Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
  • Advise on project design schedules and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
  • Advise on buildability and methodology
  • Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues
  • Identify and resolve design-related issues and escalate issues to senior management as needed
  • Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status, including potential risks and opportunities
  • Manage the design process, including design development, design review, and design approval
  Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or engineering
  • 5 + years of experience in design management in the construction industry
  • Experience working on largescale construction project from $50m upwards
  • Experience of managing a team 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

We’re chasing experienced Excavator Operators and HR Tipper Truck Drivers for civil work near Greenvale, QLD.
 
This is a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) opportunity from Townsville, with meals and accommodation provided. Work runs through to mid-January 2026, with the potential for ongoing opportunities for the right people.
 
About the Roles
  • Roster: 9 days on / 4 days off
  • Hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm (30-minute unpaid break)
  • Location: Greenvale, QLD (approx. 2 hours from Townsville – DIDO at own expense)
  • Meals & Accommodation: Fully provided
  • Duration: Until mid-January 2026
 
Pay Rates
  • Excavator Operators: $52 – $57 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • HR Tipper Truck Drivers: $47.50 – $50 per hour (dependent on experience)
 
What We’re Looking For
  • Excavator Operators:
    • Must hold a valid Excavator Ticket (RIIMPO320F or equivalent)
    • Extensive operating experience in civil or construction environments
  • HR Tipper Truck Drivers:
    • Current HR Licence (essential)
    • Proven experience operating tipper trucks in civil construction
 
For both roles:
  • Construction White Card (mandatory)
  • Open Manual Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to provide 2 recent work references confirming relevant experience

The Role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and govern comprehensive project plans, scopes, and milestones
  • Lead project delivery across multiple concurrent sites
  • Own budgets, forecasting, variations, and commercial reporting
  • Drive QA/QC, compliance, and safety performance
  • Coordinate procurement strategy, subcontractor letting, and contract management
  • Lead client, consultant, and stakeholder communication, including PCG meetings
  • Oversee documentation: RFIs, approvals, reports, and variations
  • Conduct site reviews and resolve technical or logistical challenges
  • Champion continuous improvement, standardisation, and digital integration
  • Ensure professional close-out and client handover with as-builts and O&M manuals

 

You

  • 10+ years’ experience in civil construction, with 3 - 5 years as Project Manager or Senior PM
  • Proven record delivering $10M+ subdivisions or civil infrastructure projects
  • Commercially sharp across D&C, Lump Sum, and Construct-Only delivery models
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capability across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and construction management platforms (SimPRO or similar)
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator; you keep clients informed and teams aligned
  • Deep technical knowledge of earthworks, drainage, roads, and civil structures
  • Structured, accountable, and proactive; you stay ahead of issues

  • Preparation of tender documentation required for the procurement of sub-contractors including tender and pricing schedules, scope of works, comparative tender analysis and recommendations.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants
  • Liaise with client regarding progress claims to Head Contract
To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Building, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar
