My client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer to join their transport team on a billion-dollar highway upgrade in South East Queensland. We begin the recruitment process now so you can commence in the project team in January.

This group is a well-established and proudly employee-owned engineering consultancy. Large enough to secure major infrastructure projects yet structured with the agility and culture of a progressive mid-tier firm, they've built their reputation on technical excellence and genuine investment in their people over 50 years.
The transport division comprises over 100 professionals across the region, maintaining collaborative culture and open communication that larger corporate environments often lose.
The Role
This is a newly created position—evidence of genuine growth. My client needs a senior technical leader who can drive detailed design work while mentoring emerging talent. You'll be leading ideas, making key design decisions, and longer term contributing to wider team development.
Essential Requirements:
Nothing is offshored. My client's transport teams operate entirely within Australia. You're valued as a professional contributor, not a utilisation number.
Employee ownership matters. When employees are shareholders, culture fundamentally shifts. Decision-making becomes more transparent, innovation is genuinely encouraged, and long-term thinking replaces quarter-to-quarter optimisation. Share ownership is available at all levels.
Flexibility is real. Part-time arrangements, compressed work weeks, committed remote work days, or non-standard hours—my client accommodates individual circumstances. This is an SEQ office-based role with genuine work-from-home options.

- Formal qualifications in civil engineering
- 10+ years' experience in detailed design and drafting for TMR projects (or equivalent)
- Expert-level 12D and Autocad software skills
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing other drafters
- Strong understanding of highway geometric design and TMR specifications
